My favorite things to eat…we used to have a big meal with relatives on Christmas day, in the
afternoon….it was like Thanksgiving all over again…turkey, mashed potatoes, dressing, casseroles,
desserts…we no longer do that because my mom’s siblings have a meal with their kids and one
has grand kids. I always enjoyed those meals!
As far as desserts…I like gingerbread cookies, sugar cookies with frosting and sprinkles, and
egg nog, yum!

Lynn

now we will have roast beef sandwiches, a couple casseroles and desserts at my brother’s house…I’m
making hash brown casserole, not sure what my mom and sister will be bringing.

Good morning…going to try and catch our wonderful mail lady…I have a gift bag with chocolate truffles and some nice Winter Vanilla lotion, and a card…thanked her in the card for always looking out for people and animals on her route. It’s grey out right now, hopefully some sun later. I”m going to start on my cleaning…will do some each day this week. I’ll take a break to have some tea (last night had peppermint, thanks Tea!)…and maybe read a bit…I have a few Christmas magazines that I bought recently…love to look at the pictures in them, so pretty and… Read more »

Good morning! It will be one month the 20th since my fall and today I feel almost back to normal. Will e able to walk over to get my mail, but not run a race! At normal that means some scleroderma symptoms yet, but that will be permanent as there is no cure. The holidays are a beautiful time, and I’ve enjoyed shopping online and having visits from DDs, one by text and one in person. I showed DD the little animated puppy I got for Benny’s Christmas and we laughed and laughed at him rolling around..I think the adults… Read more »

Good morning June ♥ I am so glad you are feeling so much better. Shell will like her Christmas card. Have a good day. Take care.

JuneP

To me, I have my Christmas miracles, feeling so much better, and having the whole bunch of my family still willing to come to my tiny place for Christmas! Can’t believe the yard service is here today catching leaves in the mower, and operating as if it were fall. Another miracle. For the travelers praying for good weather!

oh, I love that card! When we are in McDonald’s and the dogs are in the truck…we sit by
a window so we can see them…usually Panda, sometimes Hallie sit in the front and
they look so cute looking out the window!
June…I can’t run races either, but one time I walked in one! (a 5k)

JuneP

LOL WE can always try to do our best! Looking back I crewed on a racing yacht at age 50, so can’t complain about slowing down! Have a happy peaceful Christmas, Lynn, you should get a photo of doggies in window!

Lynn

I was so proud and happy to be walking in the race that day….I was the patient
in the worst shape at my chiro..couldn’t walk or do anything….took awhile but
just got better and better after each appt. and wanted to show her how far I’d come!
I was so grateful to her, felt like she saved my life!

JuneP

There are people in the medical world who really care, then there are those who seem to think a
patient is a headache for them! I’ve had many of both. Congrats on your successful walk!

Good Night Folks! The movie was really good! I encourage you to see it if you can (or at least when it comes out on DVD or is available on your TV). Love & Hugs& Prayers. Sure hope we hear from Holly soon!

QUESTION OF THE WEEK…..submitted by Lynn
What are your favorite things to bake or eat at Christmas time?
Hmmm! I’d have to say i love baking my Grandmothers Persimmon Pudding every year! gotta have Turkey and Ham at least one of the holidays, usually thanksgiving!

My favorite things to bake and eat at Christmas time are: Rice Krispy Scotchies, Mint Brownies and Peanut Butter Chocolate Swirl Cookies. Plus Tea’s Chocolate Toffee Crunch. We aren’t baking anything this year and no candy. It’s been tough but we are getting used to it. In fact, I got an Oster Bread Machine for $5 yesterday (was just like our old Regal one but it is much higher to make 2 pound loaves.) I made our usual bread that I have in the past and it was so sweet!! I looked again and it wanted 3 tablespoons of sugar… Read more »

If you make bread with less sugar….it will be a drier loaf of bread. I think using half the amount in a recipe would be fine…….no sugar would produce a very dry loaf of bread. New bread machine sounds nice. I am not making my Chocolate Toffee Crunch this year………Cranberry bread will be for gift giving.

Lynn

I’ve never had persimmon pudding! What does it taste like, if you can describe it?

Hello Everybody! Hope your weekend was a nice one! Or at least a relaxing one! On top of finishing some sketches and working on a puzzle we got our Christmas shopping done! Thank goodness! I don’t like waiting till the last minute! How about you?

Lynn

no, I don’t like doing things at the last minute but often that’s the way it is here!
Hi Trish!

Chris in Olympia

Hi Trish! Sounds like a good weekend! I tend to get things all along and just add stuff at the end. I do have to mail stuff (or have it mailed), but none of those far away can complain if things are late, because they are often late as well. We are pretty relaxed about that.
