Bald eagles are well-suited for cold weather, adapting to extreme conditions like rain and snow. They have thousands of water-resistant feathers and a body temperature of 104-106ยฐF, allowing them to keep their young warm and dry.
During heavy rain or snow, parents keep their eaglets under their body for warmth, allowing brief feeding breaks only.
