Live Hummingbird Nest Cam

This is a live broadcast of a wild female hummingbirds nesting. There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Some have been given names such as Bella, Rosie and Luna. Their nests are located in Ficus trees and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Bella lays 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 17 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. She has been laying 4 to 5 clutches each year for several years. When it's not nesting season you will see a Hummingbird feeder on the live cam. For more information about hatches, camera set-up and more check out bellahummingbird.com.

Thanks Pam, I am always nervous when we make these decisions. We have the camper with 2 big bunk beds but small living area right now. We realized we hardly use the bunks and just have storage over the top one. We needed a better living area with chairs and couch and this one has a nice solid table with 4 chairs rather than the dinette type. I’ll take pics when we settle in bigsmile

That’ll be so nice to have a more permanent space in that exquisite environment you’re in. Did you see the stunning sunset pics i got at Hog Island yesterday?

Oh, I don’t know about that. But I do remember that it helped me with some of my stuff to know others had things like that happen to them when they told me their experiences.

I’ve wondered what it would be like to have a good sized hot tub. One can’t swim, but could kick and do arm exercises. Use year round. In the summer turn off the heater. You could still have the jets. I can just imagine sitting there with snow all around. I’d like to have it in one of those little house things I could see out but no one could see in. Skinny dip. No mirrors of course. Wouldn’t want to make myself sick. No bathing suit to wash out. Just a terry robe and slid in shoes. Course, I’m… Read more »

It does help to know your not alone Debbie. Sometimes life’s situation can make us feel alone even if we know others have gone through similar things. Good to get things out in the air and this is a place where no one judges anyone else. Just give love and support ♥

Hello! Taking a short break after being in Rockland and dealing with 2 sis’s who’s head’s I’m about ready to knock together because they are driving me crazy This is a stressful time for us all but we need to keep the ball rolling. Oldest sis’s think everything is something someone wants. Sadly the hundreds of books in the shed are smelly from being in an old unkempt shed. 10 old chests up over the loft in the shed full of Dad’s old plaid wool clothing they think the kids or grands will want. Washing won’t take that smell out… Read more »

let go of all these things that are so old now. We did get Bud’s ashes in the urn this week and sis Barb has at her home right now. On top of all this we are trading our travel trailer Tuesday morning for a bigger one that will be much more like a “little house” for our Maine home. We will have 2 recliners and a couch ( like a real livingroom ) and an island in the kitchen. We have weighted many options and for now this seems the best thing to do. Packing up now and getting… Read more »

I take it you live in the trailer in Maine. I’ve seen those nice trailers. So big, roomy and beautiful. Will you be leaving it in Maine when it is time to go back to Florida? I understand changing trailers can be so rewarding, but also stressful by itself, nevertheless on top of everything else.

When you get it and have time, send photos. Will you take it to Florida or travel other places with it or set it up more permanently in Maine? Some even build decks.

Oh Jenn I’m so sorry. I understand how hard this has to be. It is a shame what our parents and family leave for us to do. You are dealing with all that stuff. Your own emotions that are about to boil over, quite understandably. On top of all that five sisters. I’d be telling them if that is how they feel about all that stuff then they are in charge of getting it seen to. I went through so much, but I’ll tell this tiny bit. When my father died within six months it became apparent my Mom was… Read more »

But I digress…. shouldn’t have gone on that. So we had to deal with 57 I think years of accumulated stuff. My health was pretty bad. I think I had the AFIB even then. And neither of my knees had been fixed. There was an unfinished basement, literally dirt with part of it excavated. It was full. A neighbor man agreed for a fee to get the stuff to the outside. So much stuff. Tools. But the part I wanted th recount was my parents had stored huge garbage bags in metal garbage cans down there filled with every cancelled… Read more »

Exactly the same with us, Bud kept every bank statement and some lingering from my Mom also. My sis Deena shredded 3 huge black garbage bags full last weekend. She was in tears the whole time. I am sorry you were in physical tough shape during that time. I have to go outside Denny is back with the trailer from our friends for us get stuff into. I’ll check back later if you have written more. Thank you for listening to my complaints and woes, your a special friend ♥♥

Thank you Debbie. Sounds like you have had your time with dealing with difficult family situations. I love all my sis’s but we seem to be going in different directions. Actually, as expected my two middle sis’s are staying away. Just like when my parents were ill and needed help. My older two sis’s and I did all we could for our parents and now Bud. I’m so happy to know that you worked out a good and safe environment for your Mom after she was alone ♥

That first one lasted about three years. Then in about a year and a half I moved her at least three times with more downsizing. Sandwich in some three month stents in physical rehab and geriatric psychiatric. The later due to things like medicine that went against her and the Parkinson’s. Then she went to a very nice assisted living where she stayed three years. Towards the end she went to the memory care unit in the same facility. That required moving from one end of the facility to the other and more downsizing. But only lasted two weeks. They… Read more »

Good Morning Everyone — I got up before 4:00 AM this morning since I kept waking up! After I put laundry in the washer I visited Africa at the Djuma Waterhole Cam and watched some male Impala for a few minutes and got a pic of them perfectly posed blush Then I went to Hog Island and got this lovely ‘Dawn at Hog Island’ pic love Later this morning I will go over to my Mama’s house to take her some groceries, help her shower/shampoo, eat lunch together and mail any bill payments that are due.
