We watered last night and got rain today. Oh well. Well watered. Also picked our cherry tomatoes. Today I got some groceries and picked up a hamburger to take home for lunch. Shared some of the meat with Sadie. Also brought my winter jacket to dry cleaners. It’s a jacket I have had for more than 14 years. It fits me now!! My other one from last year is way too big. I’m one month from my surgery now. Have lots of appointments. EKG on Monday. I’m so ready. I can do one Cubbies meeting the week before my surgery… Read more »

Hi friends…..a quiet day here…DH went to play golf (all day outing) with people from his work…he goes
once a year. It did rain yesterday but not as much as I thought which is good….not sure if it rained during
the night. Now I don’t have to water my flowers and plants today. Hope you all have a good day!

Good afternoon everyone !heart Summer weather continues. Looking forward to fall. I received e-card from June and she is doing well. I will give Holly a call perhaps over the weekend.
A local lady called me to ask why I called her. I did not call her. Seems scammers have found a way to use our local numbers. We both reported it to phone company and they said nothing can be done. Scammers are able to use our private numbers. So be aware it can happen. Have a good day. ttfn

thanks for the pretty flower pictures, Tea. I guess scammers can do all kinds of things. I don’t
answer numbers I don’t recognize….but my mom doesn’t have caller ID, which would drive
me nuts!

Your welcome Lynn ♥
I did not answer the call as I did not know the person on the caller ID……however, after she began talking on the answering machine and asking in a nasty voice why I called her…..I thought I should answer. At the end we both had a laugh. She was not aware that this is happening now.
Phone scammers are using software to mask their real identities by displaying a fake telephone number. The trick is called ‘phone spoofing.’ It’s a tool used by fraudsters to mislead people into thinking the call is from a reputable business or person.

So sickening with all the con artists we have these days. I didn’t know they were taking our numbers. I think the phone company should have a way to stop it. Just don’t want to spend the money to fix it. They can make sure another phone company can’t use your number. // I have had another IRS call, windows 10 and also get local looking numbers so I think they are from my area and they are not. I told the windows 10 guy, do you think I’m stupid? There’s nothing wrong with my computer. I keep them going… Read more »

Some of your local call numbers that you don’t pick up…………….could be “spoofing”.

Do you have poor air quality due to fires? I read Seattle had very poor air quality. Sure hope fires will end soon.

I am glad the smoke is not bothering you. I know it would bother me with asthma. Take care going outside. ♥

Zoo Atlanta 8/15/2018 Today’s panda update comes from Jen A.! #ZAPandas #OnlyZooATL Since Xi Lun has (finally) decided that apple and sweet potato are (possibly) yummy, we have been weighing the twins separately. This morning, we set the scale up for Xi Lun and began shifting the twins inside for their morning weights. Ya Lun decided that she just absolutely could not wait for her sister to be weighed before she took her turn. So this morning, we got a group weight and then subtracted Xi Lun’s weight from that in order to get both giant pandas’ weights. Sometimes the… Read more »

Hello friends ♥ We are in for another three day heat wave…..temperatures will be in the mid 90’s with high humidity. This morning we did a large grocery order at Walmart. We are both worn out….ha ha….shopping and then putting everything away.
I went back to doing my PT exercises last night. The leg stretches seem to help the most with mild sciatica from knee pain. The stretches keep me going without pain for several hours. Better than taking Advil. I plan on taking a little nap soon. I wish you all a pleasant rest of the day……and night. TTFN

Hi friends…..chance of rain and storms this afternoon, we’ll see…sometimes it just goes around us.
It’s been pretty dry here lately. I won’t water for now…..if it doesn’t rain I’ll water late afternoon or evening.
I have plenty of inside chores to do today…..have a good day!

Zoo Atlanta #TakeoverTuesday 8/14/2018 Perhaps what I loved most about interning at the Zoo was getting to know the unique personality of each animal with their little quirks. For instance, Yang Yang’s happy food moans always made my day (Sound on!). I took this video behind the scenes the other day – see how it looks like his eyes are popping out when he chews? This is because giant pandas have a large sagittal crest, a ridge on top of their skull that attaches to their jaw muscles. They also have large, crushing molars to chomp down on bamboo. It… Read more »

Zoo Atlanta #TakeoverTuesday 8/14/2018 During my internship, I spent most of my time in the giant panda building. My favorite thing to do here was utilizing our “biscuit feed” technique. This involved using the hand motion seen above and the verbal cue “bamboo,” which tells the bears we would like them to eat some bamboo. If they successfully eat even a single leaf of bamboo, they are given a leafeater biscuit (a panda favorite). Doing this behavior not only helps the pandas eat all of their bamboo diet on days they are being picky, but also allowed me to spend… Read more »
