Good afternoon ladies. We have bright sunshine after strong storms with tornado warnings last night. The wind today is taking most of the leaves off the trees. Several Fall decorations were blown away and found in our yard. I will keep them inside for the rest of the season. Making Egg McMuffins for our lunch. Chili and baked potato on dinner menu. DH taking it easy with back pain. Remember to set your clocks back before going to bed tonight. Wishing you all a fun day.

Hi Tea…..lunch sounds good….and dinner too. Glad your DH is taking it easy. Thanks for the reminder…
also a good idea to check smoke alarms….we check them twice a year when we change clocks.

We also blow out our dryer vent all the way to the outside to prevent a dryer fire. Had one 20 years ago.

Hello “guest” Jeanne blowkiss I see you are still having issues with log in…….nothing new with this chat format. Do you pull out your dryer to blow out the lint?

Good morning! So happy to have new computer, finding fascinating things to see and people to read about. Artists around the world, most with their own style….fascinating! Animal photos, people places and especially sites such as this one to see old friends. The troll from facebook seems to be resting…and it is nice to post in peace. Have a good day!

As usual, there are ups and downs…frustrations when the new things don’t do what the old programs did…for me it sometimes seems too complicated but must not give up as time marches on. I was lost without any computer, so must learn new! I hope you and DH are well.

Photos of Owls 🦉 from my safari trip – I got photos of at least 6 owls including at least 4 different species. Here I have included one of the Barn owl taken by someone else in my group. Here are a Barn Owl, an African Scops Owl, An African Barred Owlet or two, and a Verreaux’s eagle-owl.

More photos from my Safari trip:

The Common Dwarf Mongoose is Africa’s smallest carnivore. And it is SMALL (7-11 inches long) and very fast! It was very hard to get a photo of them. I tried a number of times, and was surprised any of these even came out.

Good afternoon friends. We went for our yearly physicals early this morning. Doctors office was busy, so we were there for a long time.. We needed our “coffee” after fasting…..so stopped at Wawa for large cup of coffee and Apple Fritter pastry. Yum!!! A special treat. DH is now on BP medicine as the injection treatments are making BP rise. He is not happy about it for sure, but he must do whatever to keep healthy. I am on the fence…….. if I should get the “shingles vaccine ” or not. Doctor said I should. It is staring to rain… Read more »

Hi Tea! Because I have had shingles they were never clear on the advice about getting it and I wasn’t so sure about it, but it appears that now they are saying I should have it. I suggest you get it. Shingles is awful!

TEA

Many side effects with vaccine and you still have a 50% chance of getting the shingles. I need more time to decide. It is very expensive too. Thanks for your opinion.

Good morning! A nice day but chilly. Don’t forget to change clocks for daylight savings time! It begins November 4th! Have a bright, peaceful day! I am going to coast awhile, having spent a lot of time over the summer with Christmas projects! Yes, I know, that seems silly, but it kept me busy!

San Diego Zoo Global Some Bear: The Extraordinary Legacy of Gao Gao BY MEGAN OWEN ON NOVEMBER 1, 2018 The giant panda conservation program has always been a collaborative one, and we have always worked closely with our Chinese colleagues along the way. Under the umbrella of giant panda conservation, we have developed a deep mutual respect and countless friendships. At this time, China has expressed their interest in having Gao Gao spend his last years in his home country. With respect for these wishes, our animal care team has spent much time and effort preparing Gao Gao for his… Read more »

I always feel kind of sad when they leave and then worry about them traveling…

Lots of people are sad and some quite upset, but the Chinese people are pretty adamant that he should be able to die in his homeland. And it was always part of the agreement.

Giant panda Gao Gao safely arrives in China from San Diego Zoo 11/1/2018 Gao Gao, the eldest of three giant pandas at the San Diego Zoo, has returned to China, where he was born. He arrived at the Chinese Center for Research and Conservation for the Giant Panda (CCRCGP) in Dujiangyan, Sichuan Province on Nov. 1. Gao Gao – a father of five cubs, all born at the San Diego Zoo – had lived at the facility for the past 15 years. He’s now about 28, making him a senior panda citizen. With help from animal care specialists from both… Read more »
