I saw my surgeon 7 weeks post-op today. They took x-rays and my knee looks good. He said he watched me walking back to the room. I see him again next month and should improve with more PT. I have been walking more without my cane. My shoulder has started to hurt too much so that’s the main reason not using cane but I do take it when I leave the house. //We had close to 100 trick or treaters. Glad we didn’t run out of Smarties. It was a nice evening weather wise so more families were out. //We… Read more »

Hi friends….grey and windy out,….leaf trucks are supposed to come around soon…..I don’t do much raking
(my helper does most of it) but I would be out there doing some if it wasn’t so windy. I like to get out and
do a little outside work on a sunny not too cold day and without wind. Going to make some tea….have good day,
friends.

Hi Lynn. Since most of our trees are evergreens now….not too many leaves to rake. I am sorry Bessie is ill with kidney issues. I know you are giving her the best of care. Enjoy your nice cup of tea. ♥

Zoo Atlanta 11/5/2018 So, the pandas sometimes like apples, but how do they feel about pears? Introducing new items in the giant pandas’ diets can be quite a challenge. They are creatures of habit, and would much rather stick to what they know than waste time eating something that might not be nutritionally worth it. Although pears are not something they get often, they are something they get regularly enough to remember that they like them. Nutritionally, the apples they receive in their daily diets can be replaced with pears, and both Lun Lun and Yang Yang enjoy the occasional… Read more »

They lean back, close their eyes, and enjoy each and every bite. After they’re done, the lick their paws and make sure they get every last drop. Yang Yang sometimes appears so happy that he looks like he’s forgotten to breathe in between bites. Rest assured he is fine and just enjoying his fruit as thoroughly as he can. Danica W. Good afternoon ladies. We have a sunshine day, but a big dip in temperatures. Time change is not so bad….just go with the flow. I gave the “swifter” dusters a good work out and DH cleaned a few windows. Time for a sandwich for lunch and making egg rolls with fried rice for dinner. I hope you are all having a nice Sunday.

Good morning! Have some tips for time change, but it is long…will see if I can post it all! Go to bed and get up at the same time. Lack of sleep tells the body to store fat. It may be tempting to stay up later or change your habits, but it’s best to keep your sleep schedule consistent. The closer you stick to your normal routine, the faster your body will adjust to the time change. Practice good habits before bedtime. Avoid screens an hour before bedtime. Limit caffeine in the afternoon. Exercise earlier in the day, if possible.… Read more »

May try to post the rest later…too long. Interesting though! Going to bed at the same time, I thought you should adjust that right away.

Good afternoon June. Time change hints are interesting. I hope the time change went smooth for you.

Time changes shouldn’t be a concern for those of us who don’t have to be somewhere, so I worry about DDs instead. DD said Benny hasn’t adjusted to it, so he will have to do it gradually. Such a lucky boy to have parents and grandparents all in the same house to see to his needs. He does go to daycare during the week too and has a chance to play with others. Must go stir the pot for lunch. A combo of leftovers with different sauces…rice, chicken and veggies! Good but one of a kind!

Time change is difficult for children and pet schedules. Your combo of leftovers sounds good. Enjoy!!!!

Zoo Atlanta 11/2/2018 Today’s panda update comes from Jen W.! #ZAPandas #OnlyZooATL Some people (and animals) like warm temperatures. Other people, like myself (and other animals) like cooler weather. With their dense fur coat, the cooler the weather, the happier giant pandas are! The weather in Atlanta has been blissfully cool this week, and that means we have been able to utilize the outdoor habitats all day, every day. The adult pandas, Yang Yang and Lun Lun, have thoroughly enjoyed being outside. They have spent the whole week chowing down on bamboo followed up by multiple naps throughout the day.… Read more »
