The female Cardinal found a new mate to help her raise her baby Cardinal. Her previous mate disappeared several days ago leaving her to raise a chick and incubate 2 eggs alone. A cowbird came in while she was gone and took one of the eggs just a few days after dads disappearance. The other never hatched due to her having to be off the nest to find food for the chick she wasn’t able to incubate it properly. As you can see he started helping right away! 🥰
