-The Fort St. Vrain eagles have been very busy this season laying an unprecedented 4 eggs! It’s been fairly common for this female to lay 3 eggs, but 4 is very rare and has never been recorded at this nest or seen at any Bald Eagle nest at SPO.
This eagle pair(Ma & PA) usually lay eggs in late February to early March. The eggs then hatch after about 34-36 days in early to mid April. The young juvenile eagles usually fledge sometime in June or early July.
Itโs known that Ma eagle hatched in 2002 at a nest about 45 miles away from this one. Ma is 23 years old! We donโt know the males age.
Egg lay dates:
first egg laid on February 22 2025
second egg laid on February 25 2025
third egg laid on February 28 2025
fourth egg laid on March 5th 2025
Please keep in mind that on average when 4 eggs are laid there is a 75% chance that all 4 will hatch and a 78% chance that all 4 will fledge if they hatch(via elfruler.com). Hatch watch starts on March 31st with the first egg most likely hatching on April 2nd, 2025. The first eaglet to hatch this nesting season will be named FSV51.
