-Well this is eggciting. We have a new Barred owl nest to watch! She has two eggs laid 3/5/25 and 3/8/25. Hatch watch is right around the corner starting on 4/1/25.
This nest is located in Indianapolis, Indiana. The barred owl pair has taken residency in a nest box mounted to a tree trunk. You will have a view of the inside and outside with two live cams streaming 24/7.
Nesting here starts in February every year with eggs usually coming at the beginning of March. Hatch occurs in the first part of April every year. It’s not confirmed that the same pair nests at this box every year as neither owl is banded or uniquely identifiable.
Listen to the Barred owl calls sounding like “who cooks for you?”. See all the different food treats brought in such as worms, crayfish and snakes. Watch little Barred owlets grow. It’s time to learn about Barred Owls! ๐คฉ
