This pair of White Storks came back to their nest after the long migration from Africa to find Egyptian Geese have decided to nest in their nest! The Egyptian Goose is a bird that the White Storks might encounter at their wintering grounds, but not at their breeding grounds. This would only happen as an invasive species which are locally established by escaped domestic pets. You can’t blame the Storks for being upset. Their nests are huge, take a long time to build and if they don’t get the invader off that means nesting might not happen for them this season!
spoiler alert: The goose eventually wins and does hatch out her eggs. But not without a fight!
