SU Red Tail Hawk Nest Cam

Sadly Red Tail Hawks SU-Sue(female) and Otto(male) died within a week of one another. The birds were found by students on school ground in mid January 2023. They were nesting on a ledge in the corner of an archway at Syracuse University. Otto and SU-Sue had been nesting here since 2012. 2022 was the last year they nested. They had four nests in two separate archways which were used other years.

Nesting Timeline: 2021 1st egg laid 3-20-21, 2nd egg laid 3-23-21, 3rd egg laid 3-26-21. 2022 four eggs this nesting season and all hatched.
