2025-2026 SWFL Eagle Season Recap
- Egg #1: laid November 13, 2025, and hatched December 18 as E26.
- Egg #2: laid November 15, 2025, but did not hatch.
- F23: last seen February 27, 2026. On March 4, nest operators announced that she was presumed dead after credible reports of a deceased eagle found less than two miles from the nest.
- E26 fledged: March 10, 2026, at about 6:32 p.m. ET.
- M15: continued delivering food and defending the territory as E26 developed into an independent young eagle.

15 is allowing the other eagle to perch in his nest tree so I assume it might be a new lady friend that he does not want to chase away💘
I saw her on another tree, on a branch yesterday or the day before. E-26 chased her off, then M-15 did also, but he followed her. I think she came back a couple of times, with no resistance from M-15. I don’t know what E-26 must be thinking. M is so lonely. 😥

On FB they think this may be his new interest. Comments were made that to keep the nest tree he needs a mate. That he alone can’t go against a bonded pair challenging for the nest. I’m just repeated what was said.
Debbie, I think that could be correct. It makes perfect sense in the eagle world. I remember that back in 2023, after Queen Harriet disappeared, M-15 allowed several females to remain in his territory (not necessarily in the nest tree). I think he was trying to choose a new mate then, and their presence did seem to allow him to catch a few winks of good sleep off and on while raising E-21 and E-22. I also think F-23 was one of those prospective mates, only known by a different name at the time. Happy Monday! 🤗
Hi Karen the people who were talking about this are a FB group that closely follow this nest. Gayle. FB has two big groups I’m not sure this one has Lady Hawk. So I felt like I was reading credible info.

thanks for the update, after watching this nest for years, I could tell that this other eagle was a ” friend” he went thru a lot of turmoil after Harriet went missing and then to lose 23 so soon after. he is one very strong eagle
