This morning I made gluten-free pancakes (and bacon) for everyone for breakfast. They were good and every one was happy. Then I washed a bunch of pots and pans, and ran the dishwasher – holidays make lots of extra dirty dishes. DD and I went shopping – to pick up a few groceries, and to get some white men’s socks on sale for half off at Fred Meyers for donating to the jail ministry for Christmas. I rarely go out on Black Friday, but my friend had told me about the sock sale and I thought I’d check it out.… Read more »
You are having a very nice visit with your DD.💕
Breakfast sounds yummy.
Hey Chris, sounds like a nice visit with DD 💗 Smokin’ deal on the socks and since you had to grocery shop anyway … 😘
Good late evening, we had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with our friends and we watch football games and visited a lot. We got home around 8:30. I put away food and etc.. Took a pain pill and went to bed. Slept all night today I went to the wound care doctor and change the bandages on my ankle, the wound looks deeper to me. I left after make an appointments for next week. We have leftovers for dinner tonight and I plan on staying home tomorrow not going anywhere , so we’ll be vegging all day.. I have resorted to… Read more »
Glad you are taking the pain pills and will be taking it easy tomorrow. Healing is hard work for the body. Glad you had fun with your friends. 💗
I am sorry Gwen that your ankle is still giving you pain. (((hugs))) With so much going on, I understand you having less interest in Christmas. Try to pace yourself and rest your foot as much as possible. I find making a list of things to do and checking off what you do….is helpful. Do take care. Will keep you in my prayers. 🙏
Good evening…had leftover sweet potato pie this morning, yum…wasn’t that hungry when I went to lunch with my sister and cousin so just ordered soup…after lunch, my sister and I went to the coffee shop, got chai and looked at the beautiful art work there. Then we went to the glass/pottery shop and then the thrift shop with donations…there were some brand new big warm winter socks in my sister’s bag and the owner was helping a needy man, giving him clothes and I heard them mention socks…so told them about the ones that were in my sister’s bag and… Read more »
What providential timing! 💓
Nice day out with your sister. I am sure the man in the thrift shop will appreciate those warm socks.
You were busy raking before the winter storm. Hope the storm goes by quickly. Take care ♥
Wow! Nice timing to help out the needy gentleman 💝
Good morning friends ♥ Sunshine this morning with a few snow showers around this afternoon. Very cold with a high of 41. We had a quiet Thanksgiving watching parade and football. Dinner was delicious and I did not over eat. Still a weight gain this morning.🙄 It was all the salt in stuffing and gravy. No pumpkin pie….pumpkin custard. Almost time to turn the calendar to December. I will take down the fall wreath and replace it with Christmas one today. If DH is up to it…….he may bring down our Christmas tree from attic. Hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving… Read more »
a quiet Thanksgiving meal with just the hubby doing things you both enjoy sounds like a great way to spend the holiday!
I was Deborah. We are blessed for sure.
sounds really nice.
Happy Thanksgiving! Had our traditional egg scramble breakfast. Then watched the parade and the Westminster Dog Show. Went to a walk around the property and down a local trail with the younger dog. Refilled some of the bird feeders. DH and DD did some sorting of things, and I worked on dinner. It came out pretty well – we had a turkey breast (only too an hour to heat up), mashed potatoes, gluten free stuffing, gluten free rolls, gluten free gravy, broccoli, and roasted corn. Since we have 2 with celiac disease, we have to be careful. Then we played… Read more »
sounds like you had a very nice holiday…I have a few nieces who also deal with celiac, ugh

Happy Thanksgiving Lovely Owl People 🦃
Ended up putting the turkey in cold water at 10p Weds night; putting it in the fridge around 5a, and there was still a small block of ice when i started cleaning out the cavity at 8.30a 🙄 Anyway, popped the bird into the oven at 9a; ate around 2p. Chuck did both sweet/mashed potatoes, cole slaw. I stuffed the celery, popped biscuits, in the oven, made gravy after the bird came out.
Turkeys are so like that! Glad you were still able to eat a nice meal.
Dinner sounds delicious and good Chuck helped.
Turkey always take much more time to defrost then they say…..two days more as I have learned over the years.
wow! I’ve never cooked one.
