This is a live feed of wild barns owls named the Lorton Meadows Barn Owls brought to you by the Dorset Wildlife Trust, United Kingdom. The male has a white chest and face. He usually shows up after dark but has spent an entire day with the female.
Good morning 💛A cool 67° just after 9:30 am. Warmer this afternoon with a high of 82°. Perfect weather I say.😉 I really need a hair cut …..so DH will give me a trim. He does a pretty good job with his electric hair clippers. I usually cut my bangs. I really miss my hairdresser who closed down her Salon a year ago. Gave up trying to find a new one. Hi Tea…glad DH can do your hair…lately I’ve seen a couple people advertising to do people’s hair in their homes, what a great idea and really needed. I have a few tomatoes left from the farmer’s market…sometimes I have them with hamburgers that DH grills but I’ve also had tomato and cheese on rye. 😊

Local hairdressers want $55 or more for just a wash and cut. In home more expensive. $$$
As long as DH can do it, I’ll stick with him….lol

Woke up this morning with a bit of a scratchy throat. Uh oh! Been drinking hot tea and stuff, but still the same. Hoping it doesn’t run into something worse. Just feel a bit off. 😞 Worked on bookkeeping, and paid bills today. Took Arya in to get her nails trimmed. 🐱 Picked up prescriptions for DH. DBIL has gone down to Oregon to get their RV. DSIL said that dogs did well at the kennel on their trial run this past weekend. 🐕🐩 Temps today 48 to 69. Cloudy with a few times of sun shining through. Good Night… Read more »

Good afternoon, we have 85 degrees at the moment..,, it is breezy and sun in and out.. I watered the front yard last night, DS brought us 2 packs of lawn soil with seed to put on our front lawn in later Oct.. when it is cooler.. , we barely have any grass, , ground is hard.. we are considered high desert..this year has been a killer with so many days so hot… a lot of people have artificial grass any more, DS put his back yard into artificial grass, but did the work himself he got top of the… Read more »

Hello…waiting to see if DH is coming home for lunch, maybe I’ll send a text..he has been working out of town more. I’m doing a load of laundry and this and that. We’ve had a nice, gentle rain on and off..and chances of rain for the next several days. I’m going to heat up a leftover hamburger and cut up a tomato, yum.

Good morning friends 💚 Feels like fall. Sunny with a high of 76°. Warmer weather returns tomorrow. We have a new lawn service now. Charles was very nice guy, but he mowed so fast he torn up our grass in many areas. DH talked to him about it a few times, but more grass dug up while he went so fast and spun around quickly. Almost like doing lawn mower wheelies. DH will put grass seed down in those areas. So…..a new lawn service was hired. New service mows the neighbors behind us and several more in our neighborhood. Here the lawn services with the big loud mowers go so fast.
I had to plant some grass too, where Scout peed, she kills it. There are also other patches but it’s too dry to try and loosen it up a bit and plant, the ground is really hard so have to wait, I guess.
We have had a lawn service for years. When we got married, DH said he would get around to mowing the lawn but never did. He hated mowing but felt it was his job. So he absolutely did not want me mowing the lawn (even when it was very small). He was also traveling from time to time. Finally we had it out and agreed to hire someone. At times it was friend’s kids, and at other times it was a professional service. But everyone was happier that way.
I have been mowing since I was 10 yrs old, we lived in the country in Ohio, every almost every year my Dad added more to it.. it was beautiful when all mowed,,in the beginning had a gas 19 in mower .. it was up to my brother and I to mow and as my siblings grew we all did it.. it seemed when we got done , had to start all over, when I went to college he then got a riding mower.. all of us still work in the yards and still mow..except for my sister.. just the… Read more »
I used to mow for my grandma..my DB mows our mom’s big yard with a riding mower..I think I would try it if I had one of those nice quiet electric ones.
Yeah, I knew how to mow, but hiring someone else was a better way than me fighting him about me doing it or sneaking and doing it while he was away. For some reason he has this very old fashioned ideas about certain things, and it would have insulted him greatly for me to do it.
I understand what you are saying…..my DH same.
My DH really misses doing all the yard work and hard for him to hire a lawn service. 😥
Finalized, got signatures by DocuSign, and filed those two tax returns today and they were accepted by the IRS. Yay! Final deadline for those business returns is Tuesday, so I made it! Now on to the personal returns due a month from now. I have 10 of those left. Did some more bookkeeping. Went grocery shopping. Had to go to a separate drug store to get razor blades for DH and white out for me, as the grocery store did not have them (at least not the ones I wanted/needed). Good late evening.. I have been watching the Emmy Awards,, oh my I don know 98% of them anymore.. I knew a handful. The Bob Hope award went to Michael J Fox.. and he was there and gave a speech.in a wheel chair, and still has his same humor, etc, He talked about his Foundation for Parkinson’s..sorry I got teary eyed watching him speak..He is such a great person. I heard about Michael J Fox. Know a number of folks with Parkinson’s. I don’t watch the award shows anymore, because, as you say, I don’t know most of the folks anymore. I just look up the winners afterwards.
I watched it too, Gwen…got emotional when MJ Fox won his award and during the when Reba sang during the Dolly tribute, she did a wonderful job, love Reba. My dad had Parkinson’s and the way Michael moves and speaks, it’s just like my dad…

Yes it is all over the news.. my sister has Parkinson’s I haven’t seen her recently so don’t know if she reacts like he does , I don’t think so other then her hands shake and her speech has been affected
from all the award shows they have had in the past few years I would say this one topped them all, I wasn’t going to watch it bc they haven’t been good lately, but I enjoyed this one and I thought the take on Law and Order was cute
