You are watching a live Elk cams from the National Refuge at the Flat Creek Inn East and the National Museum of wildlife art near Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Elk are primarily here during the winter months. Other animals you will see are Bison, Coyotes, Bald Eagles, Trumpeter Swans and the Gray Wolf. Viewing is available during daylight hours only. Time to watch skiers rather than elk. One of the best ski areas in North America.

If you carefully examine the profile of the ridge in the distance you can see why we called it “Sleeping Indian Ridge.” Head to the right, arms across chest…I’d almost forgotten that tidbit from my summer in the Tetons.

I had the privilege of spending the summer of 1969 at Grand Teton National Park. Two things will always last in my memory: the first moon landing (management set up as big a TV as existed at the time for guests and staff alike), and a trip into Jackson one evening when a massive bull elk challenged the VW Beetle in which four of us were riding when we got between him and his female herd. Hi fortunacat! Enjoyed hearing about your visit to the NW in your VW Beetle… glad u were safe in the Bug! Hubby and I made a trip to Yellowstone NP in 2003… wonderful memories! Our VW Beetle trip (w/o AC) was to N Dakota in 1975. One day soon I must pull out pictures and relive those days! Thank you for sharing! 😊
