Good morning☀️Caught a quick glimpse of one egg this morning though another could have been hidden beneath her. Maybe someone else can get a better view. Have a lovely day!

I have only ever seen one Owl so I was surprised to see an egg so there must be two and they must mate somewhere else that we cannot see ! 👌

Yep, have been two. We haven’t always seen both on nest but have heard both on the nest tree, hidden by branches. Last viewing of both was on the 2nd. Was my first time seeing Albert.

Albert came in at about 21:49 and investigated the egg while Ellie was in the branches in the upper right-hand corner and they were doing a lot of hooting and squawking, Albert stayed a couple of minutes then left

Just checked temp in Alberta right now. 44 degrees so maybe egg is okay. Hope so!

Ellie left nest about 17:39 cam time. As I type, it is 20:56 and she has not returned to the nest. So over three hours egg has been exposed. That seems like an incredibly long time to be off egg. Unless it is warm temps in Alberta, which I doubt.

here’s Ellie….the female alone incubates the eggs which are usually laid in sets of three, sometimes more, the female is fed by her partner during incubation

Thanks Deborah. It was confusing to read online that both do. Obviously misinformation.

I read in very rare occasions the male will incubate a little, it’s so hard to know what to believe of what we read online

I’m much more selective and careful to believe things I read online when it comes to health etc. Now I guess I need to double check things I read re: owls…lol.
