Great Horned Owls have been nesting here for more than 10 years. In 2023 Athena(Female) raised 2 owlets that fledged on May 25 2024. In 2024 she has laid 2 eggs with the first one being laid on March 1st 2024 and 2nd egg laid on March 5th. Great Horned Owls incubate their eggs for an average of 33 days before they hatch. Athena, I am so sorry you lost one of your little ones. Our hearts go out to you. Please return you still have one strong little one that needs your love and affection to grow up to be just like you and it’s daddy. We all love and miss you.

the picture with the arrow shows the second chick, I haven’t figured out yet when it hatched,,,it ‘s really hard to see eggs or babies bc owls seem to be very protective of their offspring and hover over them almost constantly
apparently it hatched around 7:30ish a.m. here she is eating or removing the shell
