Finally I am checking in – Happy 15th – missed the 1st & Labor Day greetings. I am glad to hear Lillian is in a safe place – posted a FB message to her last night in response to her’s about the dwindling power sources there in NC. Randall, I never received your pdf document via email?? Kathy – so sorry to hear about the pneumonia diagnosis & enduring the time spent in emergency care – grrrr – but also grateful that you were not experiencing cardiac issues. The fires in CA & other places have been awful. We had… Read more »

I’m glad you decided to find a safe haven before the brunt of the storm hit. Thinking of you.

Update on the Eagle Dance pdf: I had to ponder the great feedback I got on the rough draft. While I did that, I browsed the full set of files from that morning. Between 7 & 9 am, I took 1126 shots…so I am kind of behind schedule… ok

Hi All! I miss all of you. Re the B.C. forest fires the smooches made it to Eastern Ontario, no smell but beautiful sunsets and sunrises. I say beautiful because it’s true even though the source is so devastating. The only birdies still in the nest are the Charlo gang but they may have fooled me and left yesterday. I talked to them and said that they have to go south right now! I have pneumonia but it was masking itself as cardiac problems. We had quite the people watching time while in my cubicle in Emerg! Paramedics lined up… Read more »

Get well quick Kathy…nestoration season is just around the corner… bigsmile

only problem with waiting for restoration time is that I have to live through the snow, sleet etc. before that! Oh yes and avoid all those sick people who should not be out coughing on others. Now is the time when I avoid groups , elevators and generally become a hermit. But there is still our beautiful lake to look at every day!🍁

Kathy, if you can catch the WE nest when it is not running highlights, it appears Superman and Thunder have stocked up on nestoration branches. I guess they heard rumors of a tariff on sticks and wanted to get ahead of the issue… giggle

We all love those 2 Eagles so much. Thunder is keeping Superman young! If the sticks are made of softwood lumber then they may have a tariff on their wood for the nest!

Continuing to think of you, Kathy, and hoping you have recovered completely.

Thanks very much Pam, feeling better for sure! We are waiting for news on storm direction when hurricane Florence gets inland.. Usually they head north right for us. We had many times when leftovers of these storms drench us. The best thing is watching the clouds.!

I love this concept and the work being done. Common sense approach.

I would like to add that all the examples used were in fact, fractal based.

Re: Pam’s weather report on Catalina: We have been experiencing very smoky conditions. Fires in BC and winds from the North have obscured the Sun for several days. Health warnings for the vulnerable have been in effect.
If any of you want to explore a very valuable site try Null Earth: If you click on “earth” you get a menu with a wide range of options for real time weather data from the surface to the jet streams.

Thanks for that link Pam…it was quite nasty for a few days. On the upside I was working inside on my new work-station set-up. When I stepped out, it smelled like a cross between bbq and a college bonfire party… laugh

I’m looking at the weather report for Catalina above and it says 94 with a thunderstorm. There’s not a cloud in the sky.
