The Mesabi Miner came into the Duluth canal during a beautiful sunrise yesterday morning. It was on the way to be loaded with iron ore pellets.

The Mesabi Miner was christened in 1977. It was named to honor the men and woman of Minnesota’s iron range. Her sister ship is the James R. Barker. The Mesabi Miner is over 1000FT long, has a 50FT hull depth and engines that produce about 16,000HP.
