Video – Youngest Chick Says “I’m The Boss Now” – Big Bear Bald Eagle Nest Cam

Sibling bonking is common in raptors. Older dominant chicks usually eat first, while younger chicks use clever tactics to get food, such as stealing or feeding when the older sibling is distracted. This rivalry ends once the pecking order is set. More food in the nest reduces bonking and dominant behaviors. In this video you will see the youngest chick try to assert dominance by bonking the older one. This little chick is determined! In the end both chicks got plenty of food from Jackie and as you will see through the video their crops keep getting fuller and fuller.
