KyDebbie: Good morning. I saw on the Pritchett site that both eagles laid in the nest bole. I’m sure this isn’t true, and I’m just doing hopeful speculation. Last year was cut very early with that nasty avian flu. Wonder if the eagles are itchy to get an early start this season? Yes, I know they are programmed by weather, I’m sure food availability, BUT last year first egg was 11/08!
Vicki replied: Hi Debbie! It is true! I saw Lady F laying in it this morning 😊 Right after I posted the picture this morning I went back and she was laying down.
KyDebbie replied: Yes, and it said M laid in the bole too! I feel it in my gut this season may at least be on the early side. Last season the eaglets died in late January. That made a very short, very early end to the season, and a long time for the eagles to be without kids. This is an experienced couple now so they may have a stronger urge to get started
