On September 20, 2026, in Southwest Florida, the SWFL Eagle cam offered a hopeful sight: M15 and a new female flying together. Back near the nest, he also took on a bold building task—breaking off a huge branch and trying to carry it to the nest tree.

Seeing a new female alongside M15 gives this season a sense of possibility. Their shared flight is an encouraging moment, though it is too soon to know how their relationship will develop.
For now, there is no need to rush ahead to eggs or eaglets. There is something special about this stage, when each visit and shared moment offers another small piece of the story.

A Huge Branch Tests M15’s Strength
Meanwhile, M15’s choice of nesting material was hard to miss. He broke off an enormous branch and flew with it toward the nest tree. However, he could not gain enough lift to complete the trip and dropped it before making the delivery.
Even without a successful landing, the effort was impressive. Breaking the branch free was one feat; getting airborne with it was another. Had he managed to bring it all the way up, it would have been quite an addition to the nest. Apparently, Mighty M15’s building plans still leave room for a little ambition.
Keeping Watch From the Nest Tree
The day also included a quieter moment. M15 flew over the pasture and perched on an outer branch of the nest tree, where he watched over his territory.
From heavy lifting to keeping watch, he remained active around his familiar home. As the season unfolds, shared nest visits and further building activity will be worth following.
