The Decorah Eagles Live Cam is one of the most watched bald eagle streams in the world, offering a real-time look at eagle activity near the Decorah trout hatchery in Iowa. Viewers can follow Hatchery Dad (HD) and his new mate as they patrol the territory, build their nest, and prepare for future nesting seasons at this long-established eagle site.

About The Decorah Eagles

The adult eagles on the Decorah nest are known as HD (Hatchery Dad) and HM2 (Hatchery Mom II). Named for the nearby Decorah trout hatchery, HD is an experienced male who has raised multiple eaglets over the years, while HM2 is a newer nesting female.

Oh I see. Lucy is always my charge. For almost two weeks I have driven to DS house every other day to refresh their food and water and reassure them they are not alone. Conrad and Dovey have been hiding until yesterday. Kept telling DS, no cats here but the food keeps disappearing!

Hi all! Well, the guys just headed for Erie, PA specifically Presque Isle where a White-tailed Ptarmigan is being seen. This is a bird that lives in the arctic/alpine tundra, he’s just a “little lost”. It is a long ride so they will do most of the driving this afternoon/evening, stay over somewhere and then have about a 2 hour drive left in the morning. They took our car and left me Kevins. I’m hoping they are successful, Dennis can’t walk a lot but they have a chair where he can camp out if he wants. Dennis is patient and… Read more »

We camped overnight at a campground in Erie and visited the Presque Isle State Park the next day. There is an interesting light house there. We were traveling so didn’t have much time there. It is a pretty area. I’ve seen a couple articles calling it a willow ptarmigan and a video of it in a willow area. Pretty bird. Hope they have success seeing it.

I cooked a corned beef last night and today will cook cabbage and carrots. That will be our dinner. I got the corned beef after St. Pat’s day and had it frozen. I really like corned beef but you never see it in the stores except for around st Pat’s Day.

I tried to take advantage of a sale rain check, but the manager told me unlikely they will get more in as it is a “seasonal item”.

My hummingbird activity has slowed way down. A couple of weeks ago I was having 50 or more a day but now I am only getting one or two a day at the feeder with a camera.

I think I’ve only seen one or two. Fresh food will need to go out nearly every day next week, as it will be in the 90″s.

By now I usually have a bunch of hummers at both front and back feeders. I can usually look out and see one. But this year I’m seldom seeing one. I don’t know why, same feeders, same location, same mectar.
