Good morning. Tonight is the Full Buck Moon. . Seeing an empty nest now. Already ive taken immodium, alka seltzer & pepto. Feeling a little better. Funny as last night ate well, potato, corn, ham & tomato. No lettuce! Sure have had a lot of rain this month which is usually dry. We had a pretty bad storm last night. Its a nice day but still 93% humidity

Hi Joyce, sorry you’re not feeling well, hope the meds help. Thanks for the tip on the full moon tonight. We have someone coming to check out the removal of all the overgrown weeds, etc. in garden, etc. We just can’t do it. We had about 3 hours of very heavy rain with a lot of thunder and lightning. Evidently there was a lot of flooding I’m seeing on the news. We have some water in the basement, but just wet, not standing.

Good evening all. Boy is it storming right now and has been for over an hour. The severe thunderstorm was supposed to end at 8:15, but now it was extended to 9:15. We went to Shady Maple this morning for Dennis’ birthday. The kids went with us. Luckily it didn’t rain at all. We couldn’t get my doughnut peaches, most of the fruit was lost due to a late frost 😔Tomorrow we are having someone come to do lawn cleanup for us.

Hi Tracy, actually doughnut peaches are actual peaches. They are flat (also called Mexican Hat peaches) and very sweet.

He drove there today. He’ll see him Wednesday thru Friday, but it’s still supervised. He gets three sessions last week and this week because she had taken the toddler on vacation and he missed two sessions. The supervised part really upsets him. But at least he can see him. He gets six hours now. It has to be so confusing for his son.

At least he is back seeing him. I forgot, how old is his son? What kind of things can he do with the supervision?

He’s three and a half now. He was two when this started. They play. He reads to him. Takes him to parks or playgrounds. He takes a nap in the afternoon. He makes him lunch. Whatever they do the supervisor watches and records everything.

Happy Birthday Dennis. Glad you enjoy Shady Maple. Sorry they didn’t have your peaches. I’ve seen them in the store, but have never tried them. Heard they were good.

Hello everyone. We went to the out of our county fair again yesterday. Complete panic driving close to our home when all I could see was smoke. Turns out our neighbor farmer was burning his wheat stubble. So even tho no wildfire smoke, we still had smoke. But I was just so happy our house wasn’t on fire. I couldn’t believe the farmer or anyone was on site supervising the fire tho. I worried about it jumping to our property. Here’s a picture after the fire was out but still smoldering to the north of us.

Here’s a picture of our backyard facing west. Still smoldering. Hard to see with the trees but there is a lot of smoke there.

Hi Tracy, I would have been scared too with all the smoke. I am surprised the farmer was allowed to burn, considering how dry it is there.

Farmers are allowed to do anything here.

No. You can burn here. Farmers can get a special permit to burn their farmland. I was absolutely panicked when I seen that much smoke coming down the road. I thought our house was on fire and all I could think about was my cats.

The exact same thing as the day before. The Bad Axe fair starts August 9th. We’ll have to find different food there because our favorite vendors won’t be there this year. Bad Axe changed the week of the fair. Have no idea why.
