About the nest:
The Decorah North Eagles nest is located on a private property just north of Decorah, Iowa. The net is situated in a white oak tree in a small forest near a valley and a stream. Courtship begins in October with mating starting in late January-February. Egg laying/hatching occurs from mid to late February to April.

What do we know for sure?
DNM is known to be in area (on cam) since 2018-2026.
Also according to many sources it’s 4yrs. to maturity. DNM is a minimum of 12 yrs. old.
We also know he’s been challenged many times in past yrs. and successfully defended. It seems obvious this time he was defeated!
As disappointing this season’s potential for success appears I’ll be surprised the current egg survives.
As always I’ll look forward to a possible late clutch with the new guy! :) If not then eyes on for next season.

It has been alone so much I have my doubts it will hatch and DNF is so good about incubating. It breaks my heart.
