Decorah North Nest History
2026
02/25/2026: Mr. North disappeared from the Decorah North territory. His fate remains unknown.
Soon after, on 03/07/2026, DNF laid her only egg of the season at about 6:35 PM CT.
By 03/24/2026, DNF continued incubating the egg while UM stayed around the territory but did not participate in incubation.
However, the egg never hatched. On 04/18/2026, a visiting subadult eagle dug it from the nest bowl and broke the shell, ending the 2026 nesting attempt.
Afterward, DNF and UM continued visiting the North Nest through spring and early summer, bringing grasses and sticks and working on the nest together.

2024
DNF and Mr. North successfully raised DN17 and DN18, and both eaglets fledged.
Later in 2024, heavy rain contributed to the failure of limbs supporting the nest. As a result, the Raptor Resource Project built a new nest in the same tree using a natural fork and a specially constructed support limb.

Good morning all ! DNF is incubating the egg, UM is guarding the area !
Good evening friends. I’m feeling better. Broke down and called the pulmonologist Tuesday afternoon. I had been struggling with my breathing since last Friday. Never really got over that business at the end of January, and then it just blew up again. My breathing was dipping pretty low. No one called back Tuesday, so I called again late Morning on Wednesday. Never really talked to anyone. Just left a message. But a prescription for twelve days of antibiotics was called in. Hope it works. Diminished breathing really affects your lifestyle! See you tomorrow!
Good morning Carole ! I’m so sorry you’re struggling so much. It must be awful. There’s hope the antibiotics will work. My sister has been fighting for a year, she has complete lung failure, she is constantly on a respirator, there is no way she will go home, it’s so sad.😪 I wish you a quick return to normality💖 Dobrego dnia przyjacielu !!!
I’m sorry about your sister. Dziekuje moj przyjacielu. I’m doing a little better. Milego dnia!

CAN THE ON-HAND EXPERTS GIVE THE REST OF US AN UPDATE ON WHAT IS YOUR EXPECTATION OF A HATCH????
IT WOULD BE A WONDERFUL UPDATE. PLEASE. Laarry.mchone@gmail.com 515-290-0587
Us chatters are the only ones that chat here.
You guess is as good as ours. We will just have to wait and see. DNF has done a wonderful job incubating but she has to eat so the egg may have been compromised during those periods.
