The females egg laying duties usually start in mid to late January with hatching beginning about 35 days later and then Fledging in June. After fledging they will remain Juveniles for about 2 years before becoming adult eagles and will not have fully matured feathers till about 5 years after fledging.
This eagle camera has pan and zoom functionality which gives you an excellent view of the nest. In 2012 Hurricane Sandy’s 90mph winds destroyed the upper half of the nest tree and the nest itself. Once the Eagles returned thankfully they found a new nest tree and decided to build a new nest about 100ft away from the old one in a Sycamore tree.

Good morning Duke Family. Maybe that is a pip between the eggs. Fingers crossed.
The first egg was laid 1-12-26
So today is the 32nd day of incubation and the 34th day is the earliest possible hatch, correct? or is that the pip watch day?
They were looking closer at the eggs this morning.
Something white between the two upper eggs
Maybe just a feather?
i hope
Good morning,
4:42 pm COG
COG at 804am… Mom. Likes her eggs 3 in a row. Dad. Likes them in a triangle
😂
Mom rolled the eggs at 0741am. Alls good. Still snowed in with snowcrete, this is horrible cold, so dangerous walking. My dog is a tripaw and is having a very hard time, stay warm and safe
I could imagine it would be very tough to maintain balance with only 3 paws on slippery surfaces. Have you thought about getting an artificial limb for your dog? I used to watch a tv show, I think it was on Nat Geo Wild, where this guy would travel around the country making single artificial limbs for animals missing one limb and little rolling carts for animals with only 2 functional limbs. It was fantastic, his talent and how quickly the animals adapted!
Yes, animals can adopt amazingly. Mojo isnt a contender, she was 6-7 yrs when i got her 4 years ago from a TexMex kill shelter in bad shape. Mary this is the worst ice i think i can ever remember, 10 days now!! Be careful, you probably are worse than s jersey
I walk slow and try to step around the patches of compressed snow and ice on the walks. They were still shoveling and plowing snow in one parking lot that I went to this morning. My balcony is not melting at all (north side). The door was iced closed, and I finally was able to pull it open on Thursday! Nice to see the snow melting at the Duke nest. That was very charitable that you rescued Mojo. Not everyone has the patience for a disabled pet. What breed is she? My family always had mixed breed dogs (puppies), except… Read more »
Well be careful, our refreeze this morning was black ice. In the picture i saw, Mo looked like a lab/shepherd, after i got her had her DNA done, absolutely shocked she is half pit bull terrier, setter, shepherd, chow! what a combo, but she is sweet, friendly, calm, gentle, 48 lbs. Til this storm she always does well on 3 legs. Shes a keeper😍
No warm up for the next 10 days either. Wow, that is interesting. Quite a combination. Sounds like you’ve been blessed with a wonderful companion. Happy for you.
