The females egg laying duties usually start in mid to late January with hatching beginning about 35 days later and then Fledging in June. After fledging they will remain Juveniles for about 2 years before becoming adult eagles and will not have fully matured feathers till about 5 years after fledging.
This eagle camera has pan and zoom functionality which gives you an excellent view of the nest. In 2012 Hurricane Sandy’s 90mph winds destroyed the upper half of the nest tree and the nest itself. Once the Eagles returned thankfully they found a new nest tree and decided to build a new nest about 100ft away from the old one in a Sycamore tree.
2025 Important Dates at the Duke Farms Eagle Nest
In 2025, the Duke Farms bald eagle pair laid three eggs on January 17, January 20, and January 23. All three eggs successfully hatched in late February, with eaglets emerging on February 25, February 27, and February 28. The eaglets were later officially named H57, H58, and H59, continuing the Duke Farms naming tradition.

July 5th – the parent brought a fish for Blizzy
Blizzy claimed it and ate about half of it
Then he became aware of thunder and lightening approaching, so he dragged the fish to the other side of the nest
He left the fish there (maybe he was stuffed) and flew away
Thanks Mary, my town got hit by straight line winds Friday nite and did a lot of damage, lost power til saturday afternoon, it was terribly hot, Saturday nite lost it another hour and had more storms overnight., ive had little sleep. Hi jersey, on Friday it was windy here, but no damage. Last night we had a little thunder and lightening, but none of it was really close by. We had plenty of rain yesterday night. So sorry to hear about your loss of power. This spring a tree branch down the street broke the power line and we lost power. I had to throw out all of the leftovers, soft cheeses, meats, creamy salad dressing, etc. from my refrigerator because the refrigerator temperature was too warm. Very upsetting. Growning up i had a dog petrified too. By the time i would find he sshirt, and struggle to get the shirt on, would be too late. she hears itt before me

Blizzy was only a few seconds behind the parent. He claimed that nice fish.
He was so excited, he was squealing when he ate it. So happy for him. He had a nice 4th of July surprise, although the fireworks were making him a little nervous when he was eating. He took the end of the fish up to the branch and finished it there. At 8:40, he flew to the left (where the parent had flown to) and he was squeeing. Then at 8:40, on the left side you can see the parent fly up to the roosting tree, and the parent called at 8:41.
Ahaa, got to catch Blizzy stop by tonight, only stayed 2 mins and flew off, I have missed seeing him

I took a quick peek at an earlier time than normal. At 5:48 am, Blizzy was de-feathering a bird on the branch. Don’t know if the parent brought it or not since it has already rolled off the video. It looked like a small goose.
He took it down to the nest and ate it there. He left at 6:23 am.
I hear him calling now from 6:12 – 6:23 pm, so maybe the parents are still around.
Stopped by this evening at 7:39 for a few minutes. Was looking around for a parent. Flew to the parent’s roosting spot. Heard a parent calling at 7:48 pm.
Parent flew in with a stick at 7:50.
This season has lasted longer than any i remember in the past, i 💗Blizzy and will miss him. I remember a season 2 fledged andd never came back to the nest. So we have had a great time after a serious snowstorm
This has been a long season. Wish Blizzy would have left when it was cooler, but I guess he wasn’t ready. He was there today at 7:14pm. He looked around for food in the nest. Nothing there. Then he left 2 minutes later. He flew to the right side, where the parents usually go at night. Heard him calling for the parents at 7:52 and 8:06 pm, so he is waiting for them to come, but no response. I was glad that he had a bird to eat today. That’s moist also, and he needs to practice eating different types of food. We had a wind and rain storm in the early evening tonight (July 3rd). The rain came down heavy. Lots of rain is forecast for the upcoming week. It should help with the drought situation, plus the temperatures will be lower because of all the clouds. On July 1sr, didn’t see Blizzy or the parents, but heard Blizzy calling at 8:42 pm.

Blizzy flew in at 2:50
He looked to see if there was any food in the nest, but there wasn’t. He stood on the thickest stick in the nest.
and flew with it up to the branch
He flew back and forth with the stick, from the branch to the nest and back to the branch, about 4 or 5 times. Good job, Blizzy!
Blizzy came back at 7:51pm. He looked around for the parents (I didn’t see the parents today, but I heard one of them calling in the distance at 7:11 pm. Sounded farther away than usual.)
He flew down into the nest, grabbed a skinny stick, and flew up to the branch with it. That thick stick in the nest is the one he was practicing with earlier in the afternoon.
This time he was practicing something else.
He transferred the stick from his talon to his beak.
But shortly afterwards, the stick fell out of his beak and down it went. His reaction was so funny. Blizzy watched it fall the whole way down. 😂 He left shortly after that. I guess he had enough practice for one day.
Didn’t see Blizzy eat from 11:30 am and on. Hope that he gets some nourishment over the next few days so he doesn’t get dehydrated. It’s going to be very hot. Not the best time for an eaglet to set out on a journey. Next week will be cooler.
