Fort St. Vrain Eagle Cam
Watch live cams broadcasting the Fort St. Vrain Bald Eagles nest. This eagle pair(Ma & PA) usually lay eggs in late February to early March. The eggs then hatch after about 34-36 days in early to mid April. The young juvenile eagles usually fledge sometime in June or July.
It’s known that Ma eagle hatched in 2002 at a nest about 45 miles away from this one. Ma is 23 years old! We don’t know the males age.

The nest is about 9ft around and 8ft deep. It sits about 56ft up in the air in a cottonwood tree and weighs around 2500lbs. The nest is located next to the St. Vrain River near Platteville, CO, on property owned by Xcel Energy. The age of the nest is unknown, but we do know that the Rapture Resource Project first put a camera up in the nest tree back in 2003 and the nest was well established at that time.

What is digging those round holes to the left of the nest on the ground? anyone know?
these? I don’t know, maybe a gopher or something like that
Sure, are interesting. If they were where I live, I would say fire ant mounds but very big ones. My dad hated gophers, we had them all over our property when I was growing up. How are you, Deborah? Warming up, I hope.
I’m good thanks, we have a little snow predicted tomorrow and Thursday
Gophers, maybe?
Prairie Dogs
COG…
hope they all hatch
Hi Debora, oh me too… Hoping for a much better season, troubles free.
We should be on HATCH WATCH, NOW!
it won’t be long
looks very hot
Hi Deborah. Do you know when the eggs are due to hatch. 4 will be handful if they all do. Is it getting warmer where you are?
I believe they are due this upcoming week, were slowly making it up to the 50’s but most all of the snow is gone
Glad it’s getting warmer for you but has turned cooler here will warm up then the rain will come in. I hope the eggs will have a successful hatch but 4 mouths to feed is a lot.
I forgot where you are, are you on the east coast….I hope so too, I don’t think I’ve ever watched a nest with three babies let alone 4!
That’s ok I forget sometimes too! You are up near Port Huron right? I am in North Georgia.
Georgia, ok…I’m in Duluth, Mn there is a camera here at SPO that shows exactly where I live Duluth Canal Cam (Live) – Aerial Lift Bridge & Ship Arrivals Today
I watch that cam also. I like the lock 19 cam on the Mississippi. Those tow operators have a huge job pushing all those barges.
