We had a severe thunderstorm right over my house starting around 11p; rained pretty much all night. Thunder/lightning at almost the same time; scared me. Glad Rick wasn’t here, he’d’ve been pounding my bedroom door. He’s terrified of lightning. We should get a 10-degree cool-down for the next few days … or not. 😏

This made me laugh

Love your cartoons! Oh yeah, good thing Rick was at hospital. Between meds and the building and people around him, he probably didn’t even notice.

Quick fly-by: Rick had the nurse call Chuck at 8a so he could talk. 🤸‍♀️🤸‍♀️ Said he was really sore; let’s see cut my neck open, scrape junk out and sew me back up; “I’m sore”. 🙄 Chuck said Rick sounded like himself. 🤗 I can’t seem to stop smiling.
Thank you all again, so very much 💞

He must be since he got a phone. I expect he got something soft for b-fast 😊 He’s on 8 liters of oxygen, when it drops to 5, he’ll be transferred to the rehab facility which is attached to the hospital; there’s an underground tunnel to transport patients. He’ll stay there til he’s ready to come home.

Still having extreme heat advisory,,, today to be a couple degrees cooler, just pray the humidity stays down as by Thursday triple digits .. I pray it won’t be like Pam 108,,, Lordy … I remember one time a number of years ago it go to 116,,,it was miserable.. My feet and legs still swelling and the Lasix doesn’t seem to be helping alot.. we are eating light chicken and veg, and a salad…, sometimes just meat and veg, it got cooler last night and had a cool breeze..sitting on the patio.. Still didn’t see any birds… I used to… Read more »

Hi Gwen ♥ You were up early today. I hope you went back to bed for a few more Z’s 😴
Sorry the Lasix is not working for the swelling. Even a little bit of salt contributes to swelling. When I read labels I am shocked at how much salt is in everything. 😲 Sometimes you have to cut back on liquids too. Perhaps you will need to increase Lasix dosage. I would call your doctor. Swelling is not good.
Hope for cooler weather. Take care ♥

Gwen, i’m concerned about the swelling. Do you sit with your feet up or let them hang? The heat probably isn’t helping matters much; or the dam salt that seems to saturate everything we eat. 😟 Maybe the dr can adjust the Lasix dosage 🙏

Had massage appointment this morning and then grocery shopping. Meanwhile the Septic people came, and then DBIL and DSIL returned home. Septic tank working again after more cost…but at least it is done. Worked on emails and this and that. Was planning on getting some other things done but…. After dinner DH and I went for a walk. coming back we ran into DBIL & DSIL out walking their dogs, and they had run into some other neighbors with dogs and were talking on the street corner. We knew one of the neighbors, and another we had passed on our… Read more »

Glad that septic’s done, what a relief! Let’s hope the sneezing is out for the foreseeable future; that must’ve been terrible. 😔 I know exactly where the Intel complex was located, i lived in Ahwatukee.

Ah yes. We had friends there. DH and Al worked in different buildings and areas. DH worked in the microprocessor division (like limited use chips in toasters and microwaves) and Al worked in the PC division.

Hey there Lovely Owl People 🦉🦉 101F, so far; heading to another 108 degree day — Lordy! Rick’s surgery was originally scheduled for noon, they took him in at almost 3p; my tummy feels like someone stomped on it. I know it’s a common operation, just not on a member of my family. 😟 Kitty and i talked for quite a while, made the time go by without making us crazier. Procedure is expected to last around 4 hours; then he’ll be in ICU for the next 24 before going to a regular room. Chuck made pizza then felt guilty… Read more »
