Good morning 💛 Mostly sunny today with a high of 88°. Lovely September weather. I am still upset about yesterdays appointment.😫. I should have asked my primary to select a specialist. I went to the same office where I have knee injections. Dr. Scott is the best. Thought the hand specialist in that office would be a good choice….but NO. I have decided to let it go for now….take the one Advil and one Tylenol every 8 hours. This has showed improvement over the last 3 weeks. DH still opens water bottles and slices oranges for me. so sorry your appointment didn’t go well, I was diagnosed with CTS over 20 years ago in both my wrists (they did the nerve test), I’ve never had the surgery, and the discomfort comes and goes (I think it mostly depends on your level of activity) there are wrist wraps/braces you can get that do help but when I get the pins and needles feeling in my hand I hold my hand down to my side and that helps alleviate it for a while…I am putting a picture of an idea of a wrap you can get and I actually… Read more »
I saved the picture of the brace you posted. I will see how it goes and perhaps buy this type brace to see if it gives me comfort.
I do have pins and needles in thumb/hand area at times and will try putting my hand down by my side. Thumb is mostly numb now and cold to the touch.

you can get them at Walmart (and other places), but Walmart is my go-to and they’re not that expensive plus they have different kinds to pick from, I like the one in the picture on my other post…here’s a little hint you can test for yourself, tap your wrist kind of hard with your finger tips and and if you get like a shock felling you probably have CTS, sometimes if I turn my wrist wrong that also happens and it is not pleasant
When I tap the upper part of wrist (towards fingers)….ouch…. a shock that runs up the thumb.
I get the shock other times when I move my hand a different way. Not pleasant at all.

Yep – I get surprised by simple movement that suddenly brings sharp but quick and short pain.

I have a couple of braces similar to that. I wear the stiffest one at night (apparently people often make fists in sleep and that is not good for this condition) and the softest one during the day so I can move more. They help a lot, even though it still flairs once and a while.
I only have the stiff one and to wear it during the day really interferes with doing things, I plan on getting the softer one soon, but yeah they say you should wear it at night
My DIL has that brace and she wears it off and on,,since she had broken her wrist, she can’t bend her wrist..she said it really helps’’

Had a 2 hour seminar this morning. Then DH [picked up DD from the light rail station about an hour away as she was going back to Portland from a convention in Seattle. We had lunch at our favorite gluten free waffle house (Leaning Maple), and then home to hang out. I also did work and met with a client. We got pizza and had DBIL, DSIL, and niece over for dinner so we all could visit and get caught up. Ate on the back porch, though a little bit cool. I did read this a few days ago….tried to send a sympathy card from the website….but family did not have address to send it to….I would not post private address online either….so I understand.
So very sad to hear of June’s passing. 😥May she rest in peace in Heaven above.
I sent a card to her address and addressed it to her family assuming mail will be forwarded.
I was not happy with appointment today. Doctor took about 5 minutes with me….did not even examine my hand 🙄Said I needed to have a “nerve” test on neck, arm, wrist and thumb to see what nerve is causing the pain. She said she could not do “carpal tunnel” surgery without the results.😮 I told her I was not a candidate for any surgery….so I would not be having surgery anyway.
