Good morning 💛 Sunny with a high of 60° today. Temperature will go down to freezing mark tonight. Reminded DH to prepare outside faucets for winter.
I want to go through my shoes today. Lots to donate or throw away.
Scrambled cheese eggs for lunch. Fresh Cosmic apples should be available soon here.
Take care and have a great Saturday. ttfn

Hi Tea…I’ve never tried that kind of apples…I miss the farm orchard we used to go to…the guy had a couple bad years with not much rain so he gave up and retired. I miss talking to him, too.

Cosmic apples:
firm, juicy, sweet-tart apples developed by Washington State University from a cross of Enterprise and Honeycrisp apples. They are known for their dark red skin, crisp texture, slow-browning flesh, and long storage life.
Cosmic apples are one of the most expensive here in PA. …..but delicious!!!

We like the Cosmic Apples. Good idea to go through shoes. Fun fact – DH saw how many shows DSIL had and decided I didn’t really have that many after all (which I don’t). 😁

No more photos today. I’ll upload some tomorrow. Today I went to the post office and grocery shopping. I also did two loads of laundry and folded three waiting for me. And I worked on Excise taxes and payroll taxes for clients. DBIL & DSIL returned home from their trip of over 7000 miles. The dogs were happy to see them. So hopefully Arya will be able to feel a little more in control. I will have to wash some blankets and towels we used for them or allowed them to sit/sleep on. Tonight we watched Sheriff Country, Fire Country,… Read more »

Hello…DH took part of the day off..after doing a couple jobs here, we took the dogs to a park and walked on the trails…also worked on urban agility, a class Bane took a couple years ago, there was lots of equipment for that! Then to the farm store, pet supply store, and DQ for ice cream/pup cups…home now, DH left for a grilled steak dinner at a club he belongs to, they’ll eat outside…going to relax now.

Happy Friday to the Lovely Owl People 🦉🦉 Charles has left the building; meaning Chuck is spending the weekend in Colo Spgs = nekkid-time! 😎 Everyone is very glad he’s going; he really had to step away from here; he seemed to think if he went to Wal-mart every day, the pain of losing his big brother and best friend would ease; it did not. 😔 The family pumpkin-carving is scheduled for tonight and tomo are the coffin-races in Manitou Spgs. It’s supposed to rain all day tomo, which will deter absolutely no one; there’ll be a gazillion people out… Read more »

Good morning 💜 Sunshine with a high of 61° late afternoon. We are having a long string of beautiful fall days .. Ordered stamps online from USPS. Since I have not ordered stamps in a long time…..my account was gone.😞 Tried to open a new account, but after several tries gave up. Signed in as a guest. Lots of blanks to fill out, but I gotter done.👍 Ordered Winter Whimsy…..20 stamps costing $16.40 plus $2.10 S & H…total $18.50 for 20 stamps. 😮 I know you all know this, but I have been out of the stamp loop for several… Read more »

Today I worked on paying bills, doing laundry, and cutting up some of the almost ripe or overripe tomatoes for use in sauce later. We watched Tracker which we had missed while we were away, and then Elsbeth. Temps today were 39 to 60.

Good Night all! Love & Hugs & Prayers.

I use to blend the tomatoes and put them in a see through container. Let them sit in frig overnight. Next day take all the water out with a turkey baster….then freeze. This is tomato concentrate. Otherwise your frozen tomatoes are mostly water when you defrost….but still good and tasty. A picture of how much water I took out, before freezeing. (this was a family secret…..but no more…lol)

Condensed tomatoes take up less room in freezer.

Many years ago when I visited grad school friends in Italy, they had intact tomatoes frozen in bags in the freezer. I never asked any questions, but I thought it was interesting. Never occurred to me before that it might be something one would do. I am planning to add these to tomato puree, or paste so I am less worried about that excess water.

On Sunday morning, we took a Rainforest Tour which took us to some places we would not have known about. Some were on the south side of the lake (Olympic National Forest) and some on the north (Olympic National Park). For a more complete explanation of the difference between the Forest and the Park, see my response to Gwen below. Here are some photos of that trip.
