Kestrel Nest Box - Wallingford, Oxfordshire

Hatch/Fledge Timeline:
2018
1st egg laid 05/12/18
2017
1st egg was laid on 22nd April then 5th and final egg on May 2nd. All five Kestrel chicks hatched by May 29th. All 5 chicks fledged by June 27th.
2016
1st egg laid 05/02 2nd egg laid 05/04 3rd egg laid 05/07 4th egg laid 05/09 5th egg laid 05/11. All 5 chicks hatched by 06/07. One chick did not survive. On June 28th 4 Kestrel chicks were banded to help us to monitor the population across the country –about 2000 Kestrel chicks are banded in Britain each year.
2015
Nesting occurred in late April to early May. 5 eggs were laid. All chicks hatched by 29 May. Unfortunately all chicks subsequently died before fledging.

Good morning. It is a beautiful morning in Maine, sunny and great temperature high of 80…no humidty I have felt ill for the past week and Thursday I noticed a big red patch on my stomach which looked like the bullseye if you have Lyme disease. I was lucky to get into my doc on Friday and she started me on 3 weeks of antibiotic to fight Lyme. She did the blood work which should be back Monday but all my symptoms indicate Lyme disease with muscle pain, headache, nausea, fever and fatigue. I hate TICKS they are ruining life… Read more »

Good morning, the crazy thing about posting is I am scared to post anything else incase I am breaking some rule that I don’t know about ! This is a raptor site so is posting other raptors ok now that the Kestrels have left, I just don’t know. Goodness, take me home country roads to the place I belong ! bigsmile
