You are watching Decorah Goose cams at the N2B and N1 nests. There are currently 2 constructed eagle nests at the fish hatchery. They have been named N1 and N2B. N1 was rebuilt by RRP in September 2021.
Which nest is which:
N1 has more sticks on the nest, no wood chips and the Y branch. N2B has wood chips on the nest. The camera switches back and forth between the two.
This pair of Canadian Geese decided to nest at the N2B nest in the spring of 2022, 2023, 2024 and again this year(2025). The two nests are about 700ft apart.
Mama goose will begin incubation once she is done laying eggs(should be around 5 to 7 total).
Incubation lasts about 28 days before we see a hatch. The goslings will remain in the nest for up to 48 hours before jumping out. If you don’t see any eggs it’s because she covers them up when away from the nest.
This camera was Set up and is maintained by the Raptor Resource Project, a non-profit organization for the preservation of falcons, eagles, ospreys, hawks, and owls.
How Sad
Intruder on the nest.
During the scrimmage one egg fell out of the nest and out of the tree. Intruder laid an egg during the battle for the nest.
Intruder finally left the nest.
Intruder egg outside the nest bowl
trying to get it b=into the nest bowl
8:00 pm egg still out.
thanks for the rundown Becki, here’s where the one egg rolls out of the nest
Good catch Deborah.
It looks so bleak and cold there. Any idea when to expect hatch? I don’t want to miss a minute of it.
Is this the other nest?
This nest looks so messy. Think it would be hard to have eggs here.
yeah, it looks like it
