That is sweet Gabi. My Mom died of Parkinson’s. She knew us up to the end but didn’t really know where she was. They are making a lot of progress in Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s research. I’m glad you have such wonderful memories.

Food coma for two days, I repeat turkey dinner last night again… YUM! Turned fantastic although DH purchase a different turkey brand and took longer to cook but likely was juicy. I have family from my mom side in kansas, they came with prairie schooners and made it thru the first months in a “house” which they dug out in the ground. Had critical incidents with native americans. Mom and i visited them in 1976 . They have big farmland now and are wealthy with oil pumps on their ground. Visiting kansas was during the bicentennial events. It was a great time, also visiting the black hills, badlands, mount rushmore, even deadwood and sturgis. But no motorbikes there in sturgis at that time. Rapid city, SD. ….. Nebraska….

In our scotland holidays , we found out that all the different clans had different colors and patterns (typical for each clan) in their traditional garments, very interesting.
Oh yes, DH paternal and maternal ancestors belong to the Campbell, Moray and Innes clans.
The campbells were a well known clan. I had heard of moray (murray?), but didnt know innes.
We were in campbeltown (argyll and bute area), we crossed the Moray firth. I googled innes. Its in the moray area, too.

The haggis were kinda greasy, other stuff was good.
Drinking a wee dram of some whisky with peat aroma helped the grease, but i normally dont drink alcohol and therefore it was a bit strong and weird tasting. Lol.

Yes it is supposed to be emphasized that the tequila brand it’s made of very high quality agave, this worm it’s found in the agave plant. It’s a town named Tequila in Mexico. !Salud! 😘

Hi ML. Did you go to Germany this last trip? Seems I remember you only saw an airport. Julie went north today and called me about 3:30 CST. They had just got there, not even unloaded the car yet. She said a blizzard was supposed to hit about 6 pm with 12-26 inches of snow. You stay safe and warm and enjoy whatever the weather brings.

Yes. I don’t know my family history but somehow I think my paternal people were from England and maternal from Scotland with other areas mixed in. I ordered a DNA kit from Ancestry.com and they analyze your DNA for this info. I think they break it down by parent but I haven’t read that part.

I really wasn’t around many of my relatives very much on either side of my family. I mean relatives that came before me like grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins. Didn’t know most well. Just my nuclear family on. Now I have a big family. Only my sister Nancy is older, the rest are younger.
I have only a supersmall family. Still a few cousins, but no more contact , only with one cousin. Thats fine with me.
I was thinking yesterday about your beautiful daughter. I know I really don’t know your family but I have reason over the years to think they are wonderful people. I see your daughter as loving and caring, and smart. I know your husband told you when you moved there you did not have to work. You enjoy your time with him. Small, but good family.
