Live Hummingbird Nest Cam

This is a live broadcast of a wild female hummingbirds nesting. There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Some have been given names such as Bella, Rosie and Luna. Their nests are located in Ficus trees and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Bella lays 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 17 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. She has been laying 4 to 5 clutches each year for several years. When it’s not nesting season you will see a Hummingbird feeder on the live cam. For more information about hatches, camera set-up and more check out bellahummingbird.com.

Hey BellaLand – guess i was a little optimistic on health; my chest feel like it’s on fire every time i try to either cough or not cough. ?? Temps last night with the wind was -18; it’s only 11 now, don’t what the wind is. This furnace just can’t handle it; got up at 4.30a and it was 52, turned up the thermostat again to 70 and it was 55 at 8a. There’s something seriously wrong. Hope you’re all having a good day.

I’m so sorry Pam. To be sick and unable to be warm is horrible. Either there is something wrong with that furnace or it is not big enough for your climate. Maybe Rick will be nice and lend you his space heater, at least until you are well enough to get one of your own or an electric throw or blanket. At least your outside temperature is expected to rise. I have several alternative heat sources. Space heater and electric blanket if we have electricity. Even an old warm sleeping bag. And push comes to shove we can use the… Read more »

This place should definitely have a generator. I have an electric blanket on the bed and it was toas-ty; gettin’ up wasn’t much fun ❄ i had the water on, just a teensy bit, in both the kitchen and bathroom overnight; lotsa water pipes being broken across the state. When i lived in the mobile home, which i loved, had to open the cupboard doors and run the water when it got this cold. DB-Chuck’s been so sick, he hasn’t had a cigarette for 5-6 days, maybe he’s got it beaten ?

Jenn, glad you are on the rebound. I’m guessing after all that coughing it may take awhile longer. I asked below but you probably never saw it. I was wondering if you are still having the Lyme Disease and eye irritation issues and symptoms. Kathy, hope your and Craig’s friend is still doing well after the surgery. Hope you can share pathology with us. I probably have forgotten other things discussed below. Sorry if I have. It hasn’t been the best of days. Oh yea, hope Nannie Mae has resolved her log in issues. I know me and Pam both… Read more »

I’ve been under the weather today. I didn’t tell y’all but I got this little EKG monitor. You might have seen it advertised on tv. I was not in AFIB. More stomach/intestinal. Anyway, I’m rebounding now and I think I can eat. Pam glad you are doing better today. I was surprised to read below you are still having hot flashes. Made me think of the Golden Girls where Dorothy is trying stand up comedy. She said she lived with four other older women. You could read by the light of the hot flashes! ?. Hope you get that throw.… Read more »
