Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Hi, Debbie. I’ll whisper this so that I am not jinxed. 🤫
I am actually feeling pretty much okay. I just get tired. But I keep getting older, so that probably won’t change. At least I can rest when I want to. I know you have had some big things going on. Are you staying rested? And do you think you are feeling better than last holiday season?

I’m so happy Karen! You keep it going. Get better and better. You have had so many issues, it is your turn. Your husband and Dutchess too. I was already feeling a lot better last year. Remember the little video of me at Christmas with Nancy, when we were really tickled about something? This year I am even better. I think yesterday may help us feel better too. I was reading at Decorah. Everyone there also is happy about our current events. It made me think, so many are glad, how did it get to be this way in the… Read more »

Yes, we must keep our eyes on today. But I remember hearing you laugh from last year’s video. I could even hear your Southern accent! It was so uplifting! After your major stay in the hospital and rehab, you have gone leaps and bounds toward feeling better, including losing weight! And then little things all through this year. You have done so well!!!

Thank you dear Karen, but look at you too. You have gradually improved from that horrible surgery and are better and better. You are getting the trouble with falling asleep under better control, understanding it. Seems your husband is better to, and little Dutchess. So you go dear Karen. I’m glad you are my friend. Now I’ll say good night to you, my friend. Love to you, hugs and see you tomorrow.

We both have many things to be thankful for during the last couple of years, at long last. I’m so glad you have been in my life during these times. 😘 You go and get another sweet night’s sleep with no machine. Love and hugs to you, honey. Tomorrow it is! 😊 Nite-nite.

Good evening…at least it seems like evening, it’s so dark out…don’t like it. DH is cooking one of his concoctions but I might just have a pot pie that is from the deli…he’s mixing hamburger with some sausage, not sure I want that..but guess I could try it. I switched some summer/fall clothes today and tried some things on…found one pair of pants to donate and might give one pair of jeans to my sister. I have a quilt to wash on gentle cycle, will probably donate it…and a shirt to mend later while watching a show. I really didn’t… Read more »

Hi Lynn I’d probably want the pot pie! But then again, it would depend on what else he puts in that meat. I saw a cabbage roll recipe recently like Cammie made and thought yum yum! It was smothered in a tomato sauce. It is good you do what you do for the charities.

I had some, he put Manwich in it…we both like it better without the sausage, I think…I’ll have half of the pot pie for lunch tomorrow, it’s pretty big.

So you got both in half portions. I like doing that for the variety of taste instead of just one taste.

Oh gosh, Debbie, they are “to die for,” really. They are elegant, yet hearty and filling. To me, anyway. The seasoned meat, surrounded by cooked cabbage, then all smothered in a scrumptious tomato-based sauce! 😋😋

🥰 I hope you try it soon, Debbie. But I don’t know any restaurant that serves them. You might have to find a recipe. I will see if I can find mine.

I wish i had a deli like yours. They have real home cooking it seems. Is that a chain grocery or more like a specialty or mom and pop place?
