Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. Hi Gabi, were you still up when the astronauts splashed down, or did you wake up? How about your husband? I’m sure his working schedule makes him sound asleep at that time.
I watched it on cnn, until the boats came to open their hatch. I was still up.
I was praying for them during those 6 min blackout. Also wondering what they might have thought, seen or talked during this time of re-entry? Plus i didnt know until then, that there were problems with the heat shield on the first mission.Then i was worried if the parachutes would come out …
It was perfect in the end. Thank God.

Hi Gabi, I worried about all those things too. The majority of the astronauts killed occurred during re-entry, way more than launch. It was a good mission and I am happy they are all safe. Seems in the past when they returned it was a few days before we saw much of them. They were already on stage with a microphone today.
It was a relatively short mission this time. Their muscles still in good shape.
When they return from ISS, then they were in space for a longer time, their much weaker body has to adapt first. That could be the reason why they were not seen for a few days. But i am not sure, lol, no expert. Glad that they all were doing so well today.

My day was ok , but we had internet problems with the tablet, there was an update and everything looks different now. It even logged me out of spo.
Had some leftover ratatouille and arugula salad with a bit of chicken.

Whole grain bread sounds good with that ratatouille. Sorry about the internet problems. I hate updates. It seems things are worse, not better. Update should be for the better. Even SPO, when they have updates, always seems things are harder. I had a good day. Cooked a little for Casey, a lot of roasted veggies for me. Casey eats the veggies too. Gabi!! It is 3 AM in Germany. Do you go to church early? How do you get sleep?

No, not yet. They didn’t have one I wanted at the Walmart in my area, and I was too tired to go anywhere else at that time. Tomorrow I will go try another Walmart or Best buy and get the phone I want. Then I have to take it to the main AT&t store here and they will transfer my data for me.
I have pretty much stayed off my phone all day though. It is worrisome.

That had to be the coolest thing I’ve seen in a very long time; CNN had several astronauts as guests and my fave, Neil deGrasse Tyson. It was fascinating, especially to see the helicopters do the pick up from the front porch. 💖 💖

I searched. 19 have died on a space mission. The majority during re-entry. The Challenger was the one that had the launch catastrophe 73 seconds into the mission.

Re-entry is way more likely to be dangerous than launch.
That launch was SO TRAGIC. And quite a shock! I don’t think anyone ever expected that would or could happen.

well, that was pretty cool. The fish meals were good and I have plenty of leftovers..2 pieces of fish and a big container of potato soup. Ardy, those types of restaurants, I call them family restaurants have fish on Fridays all year, so does the grocery deli…time to put things away and clean up the kitchen and then relax..night, friends.

We dont have fish frys out here and where they have fish on the menu there is no mention of a fish fry.
Fish fry’s are a midwest thing and in MN The KofC puts them on and churches.
Culvers called it a fish fry when actually it is on the menu all the time….just kind of strange what people consider a fish fry
Maybe I misunderstood then. But no, they don’t have fish on Fridays here for Lent for the Catholics. It is more of a Midwestern thing. Maybe they eat at home and don’t have meat or go to a restaurant and just order something that is not meat but they do not advertise it.

If restaurants have fish on their menu its on the menu every day all year round. They do not put fish on their menus on Fridays just for lent. It seems in the midwest states where I came from they cater to Catholic and have fish on Fridays during Lent…….I never see any advertisements for Fish on Friday in Tucson and I am not Catholic so people at my church dont mention it either. But McDonalds and restaurants that have fish on the menu serve it every day – year round.

When Rick used to go back to South Dakota he used to go to his friend’s house where they actually had a fish fry. They had fish and they fried it and had a party. That’s what I call a fish. Fry fish at a restaurant is just fish on the menu if you ask me

Fish fries in Arkansas are the best! You all go out to a lake, catch catfish, light a fire and fry ’em up. It’s great!
