Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Good Morning Ardyth yes you can swim through the air😂 the weeds are small ones I’m just trying to stay ahead of them before they get to big when they are small you can just pull and leave them if they are big you have to remove them out of the way and doing that is lots more work

Good night to all my Bella Buds. Love to all. Thanks Pam for the info on the photo. I really wish I could put a sign in name to more faces. I’ve always wanted to put a face to the people I talk to. Have a good night. Love.

They did last night. I picked them to win because we had UofA boys that played for the Spurs years ago. Steve Kerr was one of them.

Thinking about getting an aquarium. I used to love watching the little fish swim around. And I used to let the mollies and platy’s have babies and protect them til big. It was so relaxing and fun. Hmmm….

If you got the time, go for it. Aquariums are stress relieving, but aren’t they a lot of work?

I would like learning what you do, how you build it. Our state fair had an aquarium competition. You got a ribbon for having the best one.
I used to like walking through the exhibit.

I will keep that in mind, Debbie. I’ll keep you posted if I decide to do it, and let you know every step so maybe you can learn and enjoy it also. Sometimes I even named my fish. 🤣

They can be a pain. Fresh vs salt water, type of fish, size of fish, type of filter, etc. But they can be pretty easy with the right choices. I never got into the real fancy suff.

You just can’t put them anywhere can’t be by windows the sun light makes algae grow and you end up with a green tank- its a lot of work to set up.You have to have a pound of gravel for every gallon of water but first what type of filter system are you going to use? top or bottom, you need a eater and a air pump sometimes you can find a aquarium kit it has the tank and filter together otherwise you have to build it and buy all the accessories separately. Then you have to clean it at… Read more »

Hello..I mostly stayed in today…we’ve been getting lots of rain and maybe more tonight so there might be flooding here and there. DH grilled hamburgers for dinner …just finished the laundry, that’s the main thing I did today. I’ll read in a bit after things get quiet with the dogs and they are all settled..
