Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Good morning Bella Buds. Beautiful day. I think maybe we are past the really hot stuff, but will see. I’ve got new nectar made so I guess I’ll be washing the feeders. The front feeder is half full. The back feeder is empty. Last time it was the reverse. Go figure. I mostly have “paper work” as Karen says to do today. Sometimes that included shopping online or reading a paper. Hope everyone has a decent start to the day.
Good Morning Debbie how are you feeling today? I’m having a cold front moving through that’s why it’s stormy
I’m doing good! I was glad I didn’t have to leave home by 7:30 and I can eat!
