Live Stork Nest

You are watching live broadcasts of wild Storks nesting. On the first camera is a pair of mating White Storks in Gögglingen, Germany. The bedding is made mostly of sticks mixed with green moss. The 2nd camera is a Black Stork nest in the Gemenc forest of Hungary - Note: If the screen is black it's night time.

Yesterday (7-18-18) (which was my birthday), a couple of crows came in and ate the remaining egg that has been in the nest. I see only a remnant of the shell now.

Not only nicely – it even looked very elegantly! I was a bit surprised, they must have been practicing all morning giggle

Nice to read you again! Any chance to get hold of something better than this rusty old laptop?

I wish – but chances of getting a replacement for the laptop are very slim for now. cry If I could find the original startup disks for my HP desktop, Best Buy says they can get the HP running again.

Hello to everyone who is still watching. I have been checking almost every day but just not commenting in chat because of still having to use this lame little laptop – does weird things when you’re trying to type. So it is early Sat. morning, 7-14 & for now the two white stork kids – Fritz & Annabelle, are on the nest – love those names There are two black storklets on their nest – well, I’m assuming these are 2 of the kids & not the parents. Thanks to all the great reporting of nest activities, Jean – and… Read more »

Yes, they will. Too early to migrate. They may be still being fed by parents some of the time.

Thanks Jean. I’m not sure when they were hatched

7-11-18 11:54 (5:54 AM ET) Mom and Dad White Storks came in together. Feeding time!

Probably also encouraging the storklets to come follow them.

7-11-18 This is from two hours earlier (10:02), a picture from B.H. on FB of one of the storklets returning to the nest. So we must keep watching and reporting. bigsmile

Dad White Stork was on the nest feeding the young ones, but by the time I could get my computer up and running, he had left. 7-11-18 11:15 (5:18 AM ET). Picture shows a close up of one of the storklets. You can see the feet of the other behind it. I wonder if one will fly away from the nest today. It was practicing yesterday lifting itself up and down from the nest. The other one doesn’t seem to be trying yet.

The white storklets were named Fritz and Annabell I read on the German site. They are usually named by the school children.

I do believe one of their parents is always watching over these three.

I see none either. Practicing. They should be back tonight. But cool to finally see them gone from the nest.
