Juvenile bald eagle Sid returned to the U.S. Steel nest with a raw injury to the outer toe of the left foot and a missing talon. A wildlife expert has reviewed photos of the injury, and there are encouraging reasons to remain hopeful for Sid’s recovery.
Sid was seen walking through the rain on his third day after fledge, while Maz reached a major milestone by fledging from the U.S. Steel bald eagle nest at 84 days old.
