If you love the SWFL bald eagle nest cam, this video has a special moment you will want to see. In this video you will watch both parent eagles feed the eaglet together. That is called a tandem feeding, and it’s a great example of teamwork in the nest.
F23 and M15 have been doing a strong job keeping E26’s crop full. The crop is like a little food pocket inside a bird’s body. When it looks full, it means the eaglet has eaten well and has food saved up for later. That’s important because growing eagles need a lot of energy.
Even though this video shows the tandem feeding, the nest has also been very busy on other days. There have been days with many feedings in one day, and the adults keep bringing in meals to help E26 grow bigger and stronger. One of the most surprising treats recently was when M15 brought a squirrel. Eagles usually bring fish, so seeing something different gets everyone talking.
Another nest update is about Eggbert. Eggbert is still in the nest right now and may stay there for several more days.
