The eagles typically lay eggs in late January. Incubation, hatching, and early chick rearing run through late winter and early spring.
Over the years, Jackie and Shadow have become fan favorites as viewers watch them overcome storms, snow, heat, and the occasional raven or intruding eagle. Their nest sits more than a mile above sea level in the San Bernardino Mountains. Here, changing weather at Big Bear Lake can bring bright sunshine one day and heavy snow the next. That dramatic setting makes every visit to the Big Bear Eagle cam a little different. You may see calm sunrise lake views or intense wind and snow events that test the nest.

The live camera feeds are provided by Friends of Big Bear Valley, a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting the eagles and their habitat. Use the wide-angle view to watch the surrounding forest and weather over Big Bear Lake. Alternatively, switch to the nest view for a close-up look at Jackie and Shadow on the bald eagle nest. Viewers often zoom in to see egg turning, feeding, and wing exercises from growing eaglets. You can also catch nighttime visits under infrared lights. Whether you drop in for a quick check or follow the pair through the nesting season, the Big Bear Eagle cams offer a front-row seat to the lives of Jackie and Shadow in all four seasons.

Some good news. She’s not out of danger, but a glimmer of hope. She was able to be moved from the intensive care unit (where she was receiving oxygen therapy) to one of their regular hospital units. She looks a little stronger in the photo. Continuing prayers for Jackie. Scroll up and click the X in the top right corner to remove the FB sign in box.

thank you!
She’s liking the area…
Jackie, everyone is praying for your slow steady recovery so you can return to Shadow, who is missing you deeply and calls for you.
Shadow, the love of your life is in great hands to make her feel 100% better. Hang strong she will be returned to you soon, good as new.
We all love both of you and are going through all this with both of you. 🙏
Thank you for putting into words what so many of us are feeling!!
We are going through this with both Jackie and Shadow.
Hearts filled with love ❤️ and prayers for both !!!
Thank you care team for the love and care you give to all the beautiful feathered babies that need TLC.

Some pics from the video just if the link doesn’t work. Amazing job by the staff. Wow!
It was good to see her eating standing up with the staff feeding her, but it was sad to see that she has to be in the oxygen chamber. Her alert call was not loud/strong on the video. Praying for a huge breakthrough in figuring out what is causing the anemia (which affects her oxygen level) as well as the kidney inflammation.
Makes me sad.
I hope the docs will find out what’s wrong and she can be returned to the wild again and take her nest again. I really hope so much, that this will happen.😟🦅.
so heartbreaking to watch, she has no idea where she is.
I know. My heart aches for her. I wish we could all lend a hand in soothing her. We certainly love ❤️ her very much. Again, thanks to the staff in caring and comforting her, and other feathered friends. Thank you again to dearest Spirit.
really hard to see her so confined!!!!
I watched that also. I’m hopeful, but also a bit doubtful that she will be returned to the wild.
I’m hopeful too but if she is release Jackie will face this intruder in her territory. OMG!
Right. That won’t be good. Sometimes nature doesn’t play out the way we would like it to.
Agreed!
yes very interesting!
Prayers for Jackie and Shadow. Thank God for the rescue. 🙏🙏
When did Jackie go missing?
She was rescued at night on Saturday July 18th. A couple saw her struggling/swimming in the lake after fighting off 2 subadults who attacked her on the ground. She was not visible on the cams for the 2 days prior to this.
