This nest is located about a 1/4 mile from the Potomac River near Shepherdstown, West Virginia USA. It is the current home for Bald Eagles named Scout(male) and Bella(female).

In like manner both eagles help with incubation of the eggs, providing food and raising the eaglets.
Egg laying/hatching/fledging typically happens at the NCTC eagle cam from February to June every year.
2024: 3 eggs laid. 1st egg laid 02/27/24 2nd egg 3/1/24 3rd egg laid 3/4/24. The 1st egg is most likely not viable due to an extended period of no incubation. After nesting was done for the season the parents began building a new nest. This new nest is 20 feet below the current nest and in the same tree. They have since decided the new nest is now their home.

I see no egg in the live videos above yet below there is video posted by Karen Marie showing an egg. What am I missing? Is the above video really not live?
its live and there is an egg. She laid two but the first one appears to have been non-viable. The eagles buried it in the nest. She is incubating now.

❤️🎉 We have an egg! At 4:51 p.m. eagle time!!!! 02/15/26. Bella had been on a nest tree branch, flew out away from the tree, and then right to the nest. She quickly gathered some fluff, settled herself in, and about 4 minutes later, there it was!! She did not mess around. 😊Yay! Congratulations Bella and Scout! ❤️❤️🎉 On youtube. The live cam above was too cloudy for me to get anything to take a picture of or record. So I copied the video that our wonderful Deb Stecyk recorded. Below.
Thank you for whoever added the beginning of this video when Bella was still in the tree before laying the egg. I wasn’t able to capture that part. Also, what has happened to the egg? I haven’t seen it in over 48 hours. I noticed she was a little rough trying to arrange it a couple of times, but I didn’t see a problem at that time. 😥

You’re welcome, Tina. 🤗❤️ I noticed when she first checked the egg, she was kicking it around like either it wasn’t in the right place or it was turned the wrong way. It was kind of strange too the way she had immediately jumped off the branch, flew right to the nest and, less than 5 minutes later laid the egg. I think maybe it came too soon or something. But she did realize something! Now to wait and see if she lays another one. 😊
