Good afternoon….DH and I went out for a bit…bank, grocery store, and I went into the coffee shop for a pistachio decaf latte…oh and I got an almond biscotti. I have a few this and thats to do but most likely won’t get to all of them…still have leftover fish and cole slaw from last night and some chicken also, for dinner. Hope you all have a nice day 😊

Good Saturday morning friends 💜 Sunny but still very cold here.
Laundry will be chore for the day.
Making oven fried chicken thighs for dinner. Chicken is marinating in buttermilk now. Will coat with a mixture of half flour and half corn starch extra crispness. (tip from cooking channel)
Have a nice Saturday. ttfn

Yum! When I was a child I did not like sandwiches (especially on white bread), nor did I like the school lunches. So my mother made Shake & Bake chicken legs and thighs which I would take in my lunch to school.

Our lunch ladies were great cooks….always bought the hot lunch. (learned some good recipes I used through the years) My best friends mother was one of the lunch ladies.

We had hot lunch in all grades….most of the schools were newly built. We moved from Philadelphia to the suburbs….Levittown, PA. Watched our new house being built each week until it was finished.

Two full baths! Wow, that was huge 🛁 🛁
In 1959 my folks bought a very old brick house for $10,500; 1 bath/claw-foot tub, no shower; how they managed to afford it on a firefighters salary still baffles me. Dad’s 2nd job was as a mechanic.

Tried to contact my friend’s bank for whom I have POA and the only way they will talk to me is in person with the paperwork. Hrumph! Having my client send a letter asking the question I want answered. We’ll see what happens. Worked on a tax return for a client that is going to owe. Again, too little withholding when they changed job. They won’t be happy. Why don’t they contact me when they start a new job?! Some clients do, but the ones that don’t often regret it. Then took DH to his gum graft surgery. I ran errands… Read more »

Howdy-do Lovely Owl People Some background; Chelsea’s DBIL/John has been suffering with severe PTSD. He was in the military for 20 years and frequently the family weren’t allowed to know where he was stationed. Anyway, his therapist told him to get a puppy, it would help him focus on something other than what’s in his head; because puppies are a LOT of work. 🙄 He got a corgi puppy a couple weeks ago; the family’s already noticed a difference in John. i don’t know which of these looks like his; but the little black one kinda looks like… Read more »

Corgi’s are adorable. Yep, pets help with depression and all sorts of mental issues by getting you out of your own head. Glad it has seemed to make a difference.

Good afternoon friends 💙A big change in our weather compared to yesterday. Our high temperature will be 52° and going down to 30° tonight. A little sun peeping out behind the clouds. Walmart order delivered yesterday was a mess.😩 Something must have fell on the bags and many items were damaged. I had to do a online request for credit. The leaking pork tenderloins were picked up today and I will get a credit after they are returned to the store. Egg carton was crushed, one can of ginger ale leaking, pancake mix coming out of bottom of box. This… Read more »

Oh dear! That is awful! What a mess! So sorry that happened to you and they couldn’t just take it away. Generally stores like that are good on refunds or credits because they depend on repeat customers. Glad you feel better today.

that is so upsetting about your delivery, does Walmart pack the order or does the person delivering it shop and pack it? either way it is not acceptable even if they do reimburse you it is still an inconvenience to you

Oh no Tea; what a mess {{HUGS}} I am so sorry this happened; no wonder you felt awful yesterday. You’ve had such a good experience in the past, I wonder if Wally’s changed who does the shopping/packing for delivery customers. It might be worth a call or an online complaint. Probably won’t help, but might make you feel a bit better. 🤔

It was a lot of work for me cleaning up all the mess using a walker. DH was doing his best to help too.
I think something fell on top of my bags….an accident of sorts.
I was issued at $10 coupon code on next order. 👍

Worked on tax returns, made a few phone calls and appointments. Then went to my friend/client for budget meeting, discuss Assisted Living and taxes. Went Ok, but she did forget some things we had discussed earlier in the afternoon by the time I was leaving. She put a deposit down at an assisted living place 2 weeks ago, but is sure not sure she plans to go through with it. I wish she would, but even as her POA, I don’t want to force her. Next month some of her caregivers will all be out of town the same week… Read more »

I know your DH will not be a happy camper….with all the pain from gum surgery today. He will be back on soft foods too. I will pray that he has good healing. 🙏You take care too …..when our DH hurt….we hurt too. (((hugs)))

Deborah

I understand how you feel about not forcing her but maybe she needs that little extra push from you to go through with the Assisted Living, maybe you could talk with her about it and point out the advantages of it without sounding like you are making her do it…good luck to your hubby
