Good Saturday morning. Beryl, Jenn, Ardyth, Kathy, Lynn, Pam. Opened the blinds early this morning and the Green was white with frost and all the daffodils lying flat. But a couple of hours later as the sun came up they are now standing proud once again. We have Tulips coming up in our back garden they were also lying flat, but they to have perked up in the sunshine. Heavy rains for awhile yesterday, it took down some of pollen which is on the driveway and roads now. Everything is very yellow.
I did some sewing and reading yesterday and made a new chicken dish for our supper.
Hi Jenn, rain never stops here and its heavy but I live in hopes that the sun will appear sometime !
I keep meaning to get my two chicken legs out the freezer but I forget and remember when its too late, did your chicken dish taste good ? I love chicken could eat it everyday ! I have a jigsaw but I got stuck on the outside and Cath had to do it what a dill brain I am, lol !
Yes, the chicken dish was good. I would leave out the red onion part another time and I would marinate the chicken not just dip it. Good though. This woman is a genius – YouTube I got the recipe online.
Funny you got stuck on the outside of the jigsaw, I always make the borders first then fill in the center. I wonder how many do it

Yes that’s me, Mum was the same but I couldn’t even get that right but its been an age since I did a jigsaw, that’s my excuse, lol !
I admit I like the bigger pieces now, the really small ones are harder to put together for me. I like colorful ones too, some have too much dark coloring on them.
I think most do it that way.

We had awfully strong gusts during our heavy rain event. At Craig’s work two trees were blown down. One of them hit a power line around 9:45 AM which knocked out their power. Around noon, with power still out, Craig’s boss for the IT Dept. told them to leave and work from home.

Yikes Kathy, that was scary I’m sure having the trees falling near them.
Thankful he made it home safely. 🙏
Lovely bunch of flowers Mark left before he and Cath went to catch their flight back (for Mothers day on Sunday), I love the smell of fresh flowers, I shall open my card on Sunday. Will I hear from Nathan well who knows he seems to get over to England but just not here but life goes on ! 💐

Chuck and Wendy came for haircuts yesterday. Then Rick and I watched the ⛹️♂️🏀Wildcats win. Rick grilled hotdogs and we had them with sauerkraut and fries. Rick finished planting the garden. The heat is starting today.

Does Rick make homemade Sauerkraut? There is a German run store on our road in Waldoboro and it specializes in Sauerkraut.

We don’t have stores like that here although in the big towns I guess you would get it in a deli, I have seen Deli’s in the States and I can just dream about what I could buy !

Good morning, so much going on lately when Mark comes down he sets all sorts of things up like making a will and getting the papers signed to let him take charge if I am unable too. I have a nice lady who phones me every week and happily I like her and still more coming. Rain this morning but a quieter day today wind only gusting to 35mph.🙄.
That wind still found leaves in my garden to dump them outside my back door and I thought I had cleared them all away.
Daffodils on the Green have held up very well plenty stood upright and with their flowers intact.
We have got this windy weather until the end of next week now.
Time now for that coffee fix see you all soon.😀😘

Amazing how strong the skinny daffodils can be, holding up to strong winds and heavy rain just to raise their heads on a nicer day.
I remember the leaves piling up under the doors when the winds were blowing. We have no leaves here now for that to happen.
