Niece Chelsea said Nate’s Dad reminded her of how she felt during Covid; Landon was 7, Luke was 4, Levi was 2 and Lexi wasn’t quite here yet. She had never thought about being a homeschooler-mom; said it was longest few months of her entire life; trying to make sure Landon didn’t fall behind and corralling the other 2 while being 6 mos pregnant. 🙄 My sister Kitty, her mom, was still working so no help there and DH was working installing tile. She looks back and can laugh now, but it sure wasn’t funny at the time. 😄 Poor… Read more »

Covid was so hard on parents having children stay at home when it took 2 family members to pay the bills. I don’t know how many of them did it.

Good Morning! Cloudy and 72 going up to 88 with scattered thunderstorms developing this afternoon. My derm appt yesterday with the PA went well. Sonia was slightly concerned about a spot on my lower right leg which she decided to freeze. Sonia wants to recheck the area in 3 months; however, if the area clears up by then she said I can cancel the August follow-up appt. I need to do some grocery shopping today so I’ll be leaving home soon. This past weekend Craig refreshed the front trough planter. He planted 3 ‘Torchlight’ Coleus at the back, 2 ‘Cerveza… Read more »

Good morning I had a nice visit with my NP Julie yesterday morning. My appt was at 8am and Rick had one at 9:15 We talked about everything from her Grandchild with pics, my trip and ME. I whined to her that all my friends are on weight loss injections and I keep gaining weight, I showed her my finger and told her I would ask my Derm. on Monday what he thinks. She said if he cant do anything she could refer me to maybe have surgery…I dont know about that. My finger really hurts. It is Heberden nodules… Read more »

Good morning, I had a really fun day yesterday shopping. I went to Homegoods and T.J. Maxx first then I spent over 2 hours at Barnes & Noble Bookstore. I had a coffee and sandwich at the Starbucks cafe in the store and browsed all the great books they have there. I did decide to get something other than just books with my gift cert. from Amber, so I bought a cute jigsaw puzzle with cats and books on a big bookshelf. I also got a new Bible for my bed stand. All went good with the plumber and it… Read more »

Hi Jenn
Glad you enjoyed your day alone. You picked out nice gifts for yourself and such a pretty Bible.
I never knew people from the East coast and so many are from the East coast in many of the chats, hardly any from out this way….wonder why? It seems weird to me as our words seem weird to you…..Joyce from Jersey calls spaghetti sauce Gravy which I think is the weirdest one.

Hi Jenn
Great news that the plumbing work went so well. What a relief to no longer hear the loud pump indoors.
I’m glad you enjoyed your time away and found some nice things to get with Amber’s gift certificate 💝

Good morning. Beryl, Jenn, Ardyh, Kathy, Lynn, Pam. Last night was unbearable once again but sleep broken up at about 2-00 am this morning. I awoke to what sounded like someone throwing stones at our windows but it was hail stones the size of golf balls. Not a lot of thunder but the lightning display was simply awesome seemed togo on for at least an hour before it cleared. That is then first thunder storm in our immediate area for years. Stripped a load of small branches and leaves off our Wisteria and driving back the bypass was littered with… Read more »

Good morning Ice,
Wow, that was quite a storm you had in the night! Hail can be so damaging, especially the size you had! Sorry it stripped part of your Wisteria.😐 At least the storm brought in a cooler front so you will be more comfortable sleeping now.

It’s been a lovely day, 60 degrees and softly raining off and on, making trees/farmers very happy. There’s been no wind/breeze so it’s just enjoyable. Because there’s no sun today (front porch faces west), one of the cats spent most of the day on the front cushion and finally moved over far enough to allow one of his pals a spot. 😻
