Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

calling my Mom
Guess I better do my morning chore before Jo is in the way. She has been getting up earlier since she isn’t reading half the night.
😂😍
😄
Kitty went home to Colo Spgs this morning; she’s been here for 10 days. I love her to bits and am so glad she left 🙄 I suppose that sounds awful; Rick’s stroke was July 21 and i’m ready to establish a new routine; whatever that turns out to be around the waves of grief. 😔 Funny story: I’m pretty messy and Kitty’s … not. When she first got here, she unpacked all over the house.😄 I told her my ‘messy’ was contagious, I think it scared her and she asked for a couple of TV trays to keep her things together. 😄 She stayed in Rick’s… Read more »
Good morning Pam. Sounds like I was wrong about Kitty, but I 100% understand. I loved my mother, but I couldn’t wait to head home after being in TN to do for/with her. I also understand about getting back to routine, what I called status quo. It is something that Rick’s stroke was only about 6 weeks ago. Everything went so fast. Did the actual stroke hurry things on, or was it really just the cancer. Was he having any symptoms? Hugs for you Pam, as you travel a new road.
So your State Fair isn’t in your biggest city.
He was recovering from the stroke and was able to walk & use his right hand. He was due to be released to return home on Aug 12; that’s when the doctors decided to run an MRI/CT just to have a base to work from. That’s when they found late stage 4 lung cancer.
It is hard to understand how someone got that far along with no doctors suspicious of symptoms. I bet they thought he just had COPD. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. My father died of lung cancer. He had been on inhalers for years for COPD, even set an alarm in the middle of the night to take a dose. Then the spring of 2006 he started feeling bad. Later he started being nauseous and literally carried a coffee can around in case he threw up. Through all this time he was going frequently to the VA complaining of his… Read more »
I don’t think the health care the VA provides, does right for some Vetrans, your just a number. If for your Fathers case they could of helped him manage his pain, my brother was never treated for cancer from the VA. He saw them often too
They probably didn’t diagnose him until then. Nancy’s husband seemed to do better than them but I think he also saw a private doctor. He got a lot of free medicine through the VA.
My Dad was never treated for cancer either.
Did he only see the psychiatrist, or some other doctors too?
Good Morning sweet heart💖 hope today finds you some peace and brings you a sense of relief and to find your new normal what ever it might be your clowder will be there to help you with that, to be a consistant reminder you are needed😘 safe travels for Kitty
Thanks Julie — we’re both drained and plan to do pretty much nothing 🤗
😘
Sounds liked a good plan to me and WELL deserved.
Good words and thoughts Julie.
I know what you mean about Kitty, when my friend comes from out of town to visit, she stays with me during that time and it’s great to see her and all of that but it’s also great to see her go home, so no it doesn’t sound awful, our state fair just wound up and even though I’ve lived in Minnesota all my life I’ve never been to the state fair or for that matter the Mall of America
Hi Deb & thanks 😘The Mall of America is an event; and fun 😄 Mom’s sister, my Aunt Sally lived in Pueblo for many years and as kids, we always got to go. My very 1st ‘solo’ trip was with Gramma and Aunt Sally; we went to see Annie Oakley when i was about 8. I absolutely loved Annie Oakley, our seats were right on the arena floor.
wow, you got good seats
It was almost 70 years ago; less populated 😄
😁. We take for granted things in our own states.
I think you’re right
Good morning Bella Buds and happy Sunday to you. I think we will be a little cooler today, I’m hoping for rain. I’m not sure what I’ll get into today. Fix one pasta thing for Casey. I don’t know what else.
Pam, I know you hate to see Kitty leave. I imagine it was a welcomed distraction from the new status quo. Thinking about you today with heart hugs.
Everyone have the best day possible.
Thanks Debbie 💗
Good Morning Debbie😍 sounds like Mac and Cheese for Casey😋 you have a great day😘
He gets Mac for supper. This will be a breakfast food.
2 meals of pasta in one day?
It is just one of 3 foods for his morning food, one of 3-5 of his night food. His main food at night is something rice. Both the pasta and rice have lots of veggies mixed in, usually probably half. Mac is just Mac.
This is it, I’ll add 3 blend peppers and onions.
I would eat that😋😂
Good Sunday Morning Bellas😍 Its cool and sunny here-going to do some outside things today but coffee first😘
Good morning Sunshine. You and Jade enjoy the outdoors. Maybe a bunny will run over your foot.
That fabbit yesterday really did scare me at first, because I didn’t know what it was at first and it ran right towards me and almost over my foot😂 surprised I didn’t scream out loud
😁. You were startled! Imagine if it was a snake!
It was moving very fast😳 running full speed right at me, then turned at the last moment before it ran into me😂
🤣
to all of you
Hi everybody
I have problems, to post. Since a while. Can only log in with incognito mode and even this isnt always working. Spoke to hnf, nothing else, he or she can do. I cleared everything -cache, cookies, …- on my end, but still it is messed up.
I wrote something at the fish, UP TOP, for you to also read. Just in case that one day i cant post anything at all and am “out” of spo. Hopefully will not happen, but not sure.
Bye my friends. 😘🥰.
Ardy says she can’t log in so she can’t chat. I wonder how “guests” post?
Before, i could chat as a guest without login. I typed triple w, so you would know who this guest was . Me.
Then an update happened here on spo and this guest- chat without login didnt work any more. Login was needed, and i couldnt login either. Only with incognito mode. I hope that ardy will come back soon.
I want to thank you for the sweet/caring comments on the loss of my dear brother Rick; my family and I appreciate it more than you know 💞
Goodnight 😴
Dear pam
I am sorry, to read about rick’s death. May he rest in peace and have a new life in God’s eternal glory.
Best wishes for you 3 great, loving siblings. ❣️❣️❣️
Thank you so much Gabi 💞
