Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. Of course I always go early when all the druggies are out wandering the streets and in the cemetery. The temp.is much nicer when i go in the summer.
Oh he got out today and he has scratched it and he is bloody, he came in and ate and we gave him his pain meds and now he is on our bed resting.
You may need to keep him in a few days regardless how mad he is.
Those calls on the phone are almost as bad as going out and running errands all day. 😩

Good afternoon. I went to the cemetery as soon as the sun started coming up. Then I came home and showered and called JoAnn and we talked for over 2 hours. Rick took Roger to the vet. They shaved that area and drained it and gave him a shot and he will take the pain medication from the last time. This happened once a day for 3 days. My shoulder hurts. Hi Ardy, what causes these abscesses, does the vet know? You were up early today, and had a long talk with JoAnn. Is she still taking a weight loss drug? Your shoulder probably wouldn’t hurt as much typing if you laid on the couch or bed in a semi reclined position. I know you aren’t used to that. Jo is reclined just a little when she uses her laptop.

Cats get abscesses primarily from bites or scratches, often from fights with other animals, introducing bacteria under the skin which then forms a pus-filled pocket as the body fights the infection. Other causes include infected wounds from foreign objects, dental issues, or deep internal infections, with outdoor cats being at higher risk due to territorial disputes.
Thanks Ardy. Cats have a very toxic saliva. They lick their paws and the toxin transfers to toenails too. A superficial scratch from a cat will kill a macaw which is really a big bird. I know, that was what happened to a friend’s bird and it died even though she took it all the way to Louisville to a veterinarian avian specialist. It can cause nasty infections in people too.
That is pretty toxic!
I think dogs have the same toxins. But truthfully they say so do humans.

It wouldn’t be hard with a big wedge style firm pillow. I had one for many years starting in college. The ones I had were more for a bed because they had attached arm rests. I used a laptop for years but I had a recliner.
My couch wouldnt work for that and I am not going to lay down all day
